Packaging and Digital Graphic Designer

We are seeking a creative, dynamic, and detail-oriented Packaging and Digital Graphic Designer to join our team and work closely with Jouer’s founder/Creative Director, as well as our product development, sales, and marketing teams to bring “French beauty, the LA way” to life.

Position Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced designer to play a key role in crafting innovative and visually captivating packaging designs that align with Jouer’s aesthetic and mission. You’ll create beautiful and functional designs that appeal to our customers across various retail and digital platforms. This role requires a strong background in beauty packaging design, with a focus on delivering high-quality packaging and marketing materials for new product launches and ongoing brand initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Brand Vision & Design Innovation: Understand and maintain the essence of the Jouer brand while pushing creative boundaries for new product packaging and marketing materials. Bring fresh ideas, layouts, and concepts that align with Jouer’s beauty ethos.
• Packaging Design Leadership: Take charge of developing visually compelling packaging for core products, seasonal collections, limited editions, and promotional campaigns, ensuring they resonate with the beauty market and stand out on shelves and online.
• Creative Development: Work alongside the product development and marketing teams to create cohesive, on-brand designs across packaging, promotional materials, retail displays, and digital assets.
• Digital & Print Assets: Design engaging digital content for product launches, social media, email marketing, paid advertising, and eCommerce platforms while maintaining a seamless connection with physical product packaging.
• Vendor & Production Management: Collaborate with vendors to ensure the highest quality production of packaging, including color accuracy, print specifications, and timely execution.
• Packaging Systems & Guidelines: Develop and refine packaging design systems and guidelines, ensuring consistency across product lines and seasonal collections.
• Digital Marketing Materials: Create digital assets such as banners, emails, and social media content to promote products and campaigns, focusing on a beauty-centric, polished aesthetic.
• Trend Research: Stay ahead of beauty packaging trends, materials, and technologies, ensuring Jouer’s designs remain fresh, innovative, and market-leading.
• Collaborative Teamwork: Partner with the Sales and Marketing teams to develop visual merchandising displays and ensure alignment between design, retail presentation, and product positioning.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in graphic design, with a strong focus on beauty packaging design and branding.
• Education: B.A. or B.F.A. in Graphic Design or a related field.
• Design Expertise: Extensive experience in packaging design for the beauty or fashion industry, including collateral, point-of-purchase displays, promotional materials, and digital assets.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), with expertise in creating mock-ups, digital renderings, and mechanicals for print production.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining design integrity.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the beauty industry’s packaging trends, technologies, and consumer preferences.
• Collaboration: Strong ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and sales teams to ensure cohesive and compelling product branding.
• Project Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Bonus: Experience in video editing or motion design is a plus.
