📣 VP of Marketing – CyberNut
Location: Remote (US Based)
Experience Required: 5–10 years
Compensation Range: $125,000-$200,000
🐿️ About CyberNut
CyberNut is the all-in-one human risk management, cybersecurity education and threat detection platform built exclusively for K–12 schools. We help districts protect staff and students from cyber threats, meet compliance requirements, and raise digital literacy through AI-powered simulations, real-world phishing detection, and role-based training.
We are scaling very rapidly and now hiring a VP of Marketing to build our marketing engine, define our narrative, and drive predictable pipeline growth.
🎯 Role Overview
The VP of Marketing is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role responsible for developing and executing CyberNut's full marketing strategy. You will own demand generation, product marketing, brand, content, events, AI-enhanced GTM systems, and team building.
This is a player–coach role: you will lead, hire, and manage, but also roll up your sleeves and do the work yourself when needed. If you enjoy getting in the weeds and getting your hands dirty, you will thrive here.
Your goal is to turn early traction into a scalable, predictable, repeatable growth engine.
⚡ Roles & Responsibilities
  • Brand, Messaging & Narrative
  • Own the brand story and messaging framework across all channels.
  • Ensure clarity and consistency across the website, sales collateral, campaigns, and content.
  • Position CyberNut as the trusted leader in K–12 cybersecurity education.
  • Demand Generation & Pipeline Growth
  • Build and scale end-to-end lead generation programs that consistently produce qualified pipeline.
  • Own inbound/outbound marketing campaigns across digital, email, SEO, paid media, events, and partnerships.
  • Optimize funnel conversion, CAC efficiency, and pipeline velocity.
  • Develop attribution models, dashboards, and performance reporting.
  • Product Marketing
  • Understand K–12 district stakeholders: IT Directors, CTOs, CIOs, administrators.
  • Set product positioning, messaging, and launch strategies.
  • Build sales enablement assets and GTM materials.
  • Partner with Product and Sales to ensure GTM alignment and adoption.
  • Content Strategy & Thought Leadership
  • Build a content engine across written, video, and interactive formats.
  • Create high-impact content including whitepapers, case studies, district stories, webinars, and digital campaigns.
  • Establish CyberNut as a leading voice in cybersecurity education.
  • Conferences, Events & Field Marketing
  • Own national, regional, and state K–12 technology conference strategy.
  • Design booth experiences, outreach workflows, and follow-up systems.
  • Increase demo bookings, lead capture, and revenue from events.
  • Budget Ownership & Team Building
  • Manage and allocate CyberNut's marketing budget across channels, tools, and vendors.
  • Build and lead a blended marketing organization — both in-house hires and agency partners.
  • Evaluate when to insource vs outsource to optimize speed, quality, and cost.
  • Implement systems, KPIs, and operational processes for scale.
  • AI Go-To-Market (GTM) Enablement
  • Design and refine AI-powered workflows for lead generation, qualification, and lifecycle marketing.
  • Use AI/LLM tools for segmentation, personalization, and content generation across campaigns.
  • Build or improve automations that eliminate manual tasks and accelerate marketing output.
  • Leverage AI research tools to generate insights for messaging, targeting, and campaign strategy. (Starbridge/GovSpend/Clay)
  • Maintain clean, enriched data across marketing systems and CRM platforms.
  • Continuously test, analyze, and optimize AI-enabled GTM processes for efficiency and scale.
  • Hands-On Execution (Player–Coach)
This role is not pure delegation.
  • You will write copy.
  • You will build campaigns.
  • You will design strategy and execute tactics.
  • When there's a gap, you fill the gap — until the right hire is made.
🧠 Required Experience
Must Have
  • 5–10 years of B2B SaaS marketing experience.
  • Track record scaling ARR from ~$1M toward $10M+
  • Demonstrated success leading core marketing functions at a startup (Seed–Series B).
  • Proven ability to build or scale demand-gen programs that drive qualified pipeline.
  • Strong product marketing experience (messaging, positioning, launches).
  • Experience owning a marketing budget and optimizing spend.
  • Strong operator mindset: you enjoy doing, not just managing.
  • Highly analytical — strong fluency in funnel metrics, CAC, attribution, and reporting.
  • Comfort using AI/automation tools as part of modern GTM systems.
🌟 Very Nice to Have
  • Experience in EdTech, K–12, or public sector markets/companies
  • Experience in Cybersecurity markets/companies

  • Strong conference/event marketing background
💪 Core Competencies
  • Strategic clarity + tactical execution
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Excellent storyteller and communicator
  • High ownership and bias for action

  • Opportunity to build a world-class marketing organization
  • Direct partnership with the CEO and CRO
  • Ability to shape a category-defining company in K–12 cybersecurity
  • Mission-driven work protecting schools, students, teachers, and staff
