About the Role This role is designed for senior dealmakers who value autonomy. As an Independent M&A Director, you select the engagements you want to lead and maintain full ownership of your practice. When opportunities arise outside your focus or bandwidth, you can refer them to other Chapman Managing Directors and receive compensation through our internal collaboration model. You’ll operate independently while benefiting from a seasoned team that shares insights, deal flow, and best practices.

• Key Responsibilities Lead buy-side and sell-side engagements across all stages of the M&A process
• Prepare valuations, client marketing materials (teasers, CIMs), and financial analyses
• Oversee and coordinate due diligence with buyers, sellers, attorneys, lenders, and advisors
• Structure and negotiate key terms, including LOIs and purchase agreements
• Collaborate with Chapman’s Managing Directors and internal support team to ensure efficient execution
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and client service

Independent M&A Directors keep up to 90% of the commissions they generate while participating in a shared-cost structure for firm infrastructure.
