Role Description

Are you thinking about moving from your current position as a Court Reporter to a Digital Reporter? In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing civil litigation proceedings and recording all content, including witness testimonies, using digital tools.

The Digital Reporter is responsible for

Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.
Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties.
Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation.
Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription.
Performing thorough research and validating data across multiple sources.
Proficiently utilizing digital databases and online research tools.

Qualifications

State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it.
Must possess or be able to obtain certification or state licensure (where required).
Willing to learn or already knowledgeable about U.S. civil proceedings.
Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment.
Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings.
Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing.
Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills.
Professional conduct, dependability, punctuality, and appearance.
Openness to working as an independent contractor.
Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required.
Willing to work both remotely and in person.
