Position Summary
The Propelis group formed in May , bringing together two equal-sized design and packaging companies. To operate as one cohesive organization, several short- and long-term integration initiatives are underway—many of which are led by or heavily involve the Finance team. This position will play a critical role in planning, overseeing, and ensuring that these projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals.
The role will support the transformation of the Finance function by streamlining end-to-end finance processes, integrating systems and data flows, and creating more automated, consolidated, and timely financial reporting. The individual will work closely with Finance Leaders, Project Management, IT, and other Propelis departments—as well as external partners—to determine resource needs, establish timelines, and ensure execution across multiple, concurrent projects.
Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities, and Results
- Provide strategic oversight of the full Finance project portfolio, ensuring resources are invested in the highest-value opportunities and that outcomes move Propelis toward an integrated, automated, and efficient operating model.
- Serve as the tactical coordinator and central connection point across all Finance transformation initiatives, ensuring consistent communication, alignment, and progress toward an integrated finance environment.
- Support and facilitate the design, improvement, and standardization of core Finance processes, including Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, Financial Planning & Analysis, and data governance to support consolidated reporting and a faster month-end close.
- Meet regularly with other department leaders to understand their processes, pain points, and dependencies, collaborating with them to align workflows and streamline end-to-end Finance processes across the organization.
- Ensure project teams are well supported and adequately resourced, identifying gaps and partnering with leadership to secure expertise, tools, or external support where needed.
- Identify, track, and manage interdependencies, risks, and change impacts, proactively escalating issues and ensuring project teams understand how delays or decisions affect other Finance or cross-functional workstreams.
- Communicate project delays, risks, and major milestones to the broader Finance leadership team, providing transparency and ensuring timely decision-making.
- Collaborate with project management and Finance leaders to build detailed work plans for Finance-owned projects and for Finance deliverables within cross-functional or enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Support coordination across systems-integration efforts, including ERP alignment (SAP), data-flow consistency, chart-of-accounts integration, and automation opportunities that support unified financial reporting.
- Attend cross-departmental project meetings as the primary Finance representative, engaging other Finance leaders as needed to ensure subject-matter expertise and alignment.
- Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to simplify workflow, eliminate manual steps, and strengthen controls throughout the Finance operations and reporting lifecycle.
