Position Overview
The Technical Leadership - T4 role at Mars Snacking provides strategic thought leadership within the Global Digital Technologies function. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of digital transformation projects, enhancing performance monitoring frameworks, overseeing financial tracking, and building a high-performing team to drive business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic thought leadership to Mars Snacking CIO/Global Snacking DT Function
- Manage a collection of DT projects, programs, and products to deliver maximum business value
- Improve and manage the framework for digital performance monitoring and reporting to drive resource prioritization
- Continuously identify and implement opportunities for optimization across DT initiatives
- Hire and build a team of 2-4 associates, combining digital technologies partnering, transformation, and analytics functions
- Own the Technology workstream as part of the Mars Snacking 5-year Strategic planning cycle (IVCP)
- Develop and craft the Annual Enterprise Plan (AEP) for technology in line with IVCP, covering BAU and transformation projects
- Manage and plan the overall Mars Snacking Transformation Envelope (TIGG)
- Oversee the financial components of digital transformation submissions
- Liaise with Mars Global Services to manage forecasts, cross charges, and actuals ensuring accurate financial reporting
Required Qualifications
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to balance long- and short-term goals
- Change agent not afraid to challenge the status quo
- Robust project and program management experience
- Digital fluency and a keen interest in emerging digital technologies and AI
- Expertise in technology portfolio management frameworks and best practices for ROI assessment
- Financial management and budgeting expertise with strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting practices
- Proven leadership with prior team management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities
- Flexibility to participate in global meetings beyond standard business hours
- Experience managing large-scale productivity or transformational programs in complex, global organizations
- Self-starter with a strong bias toward action in ambiguous environments
- Education: Significant experience leading finance teams; Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Proficiency in skills such as Action Planning, Assessment, Commercial Acumen, Compliance Management, Costing and Budgeting, Data Collection and Analysis, Data Control, Planning and Organizing, and developing Policies and Procedures
- Key competencies include effective communication, decision quality, accountability, financial acumen, complexity management, work process optimization, strategic planning, and a strategic mindset
