Position Summary

The Hospitality Events Manager plays an important role in promoting Marin French Cheese’s grounds, boutique and online shopping experience. This is a dynamic role with a primary objective of developing programming that will draw visitors to our physical and digital properties, deepen brand affinity with consumers, and drive revenue.

The Hospitality Events Manager will be responsible for the concepting and execution of on-site, online, and customer-facing events. You’ll own initiatives ranging from proposing and launching summer & fall event series to the development of custom, digital-only offerings or special on-premise only products and events.

In collaboration with the Marketing Team, you’ll help promote these offerings through owned and paid channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The objective of on-site events and marketing activities is to raise awareness of and draw visitors to our historic creamery and boutique, and to increase overall basket size. This will be undertaken in close collaboration with the operations team and with the guidance of the Marketing Director to meet business goals.

  • On-site Events & Marketing:
  • In partnership with the brand and retail team, develop and execute a calendar of events to increase awareness of and draw visitors to Marin French Cheese; This includes events held at Marin French Cheese in collaboration with community partners for increased reach.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to manage event logistics and execution, including debriefings and sharing out of outcomes post-event.
  • In collaboration with brand team and Marketing Director, manage on-site communications in support of annual business goals.
  • Manage specific project budgets with oversight from the Marketing Director and collaboration with Hospitality Operations Manager.
  • Ecommerce:
  • Work closely with operations team to concept offerings and build a robust online shopping experience for Marin French Cheese.
  • Work with operations team and agency partners to maintain the online shop, including seasonal updates and merchandising.
  • Manage key e-commerce activities supporting pre-defined revenue targets, including seasonal campaigns, website refreshes and associated content development.
  • Customer Events:
  • Partner with the Sales Administrator to coordinate and host on-site tours at Marin French Cheese.
  • Plan and execute consumer shows & events on behalf of a family of legacy specialty cheese brands.
  • LTO and Merchandise:
  • Create marketing concepts to drive sales of Limited Time Offers (R&D outputs, seasonal or otherwise limited-time-only offerings).
  • Concept and launch branded merchandise highlighting the unique attributes of the brand and property, or in support of special events or activations.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years’ experience in events planning required
  • Knowledge of and passion for the specialty food or wine industry, particularly within the Sonoma and Napa County regions
  • Cheese and/or Dairy experience is a plus

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position, with or without accommodation.

Frequent operation of computer and other office equipment, repetitive at times. The ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of time, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, and occasionally lift and carry items up to 30 pounds. Occasional driving to other sites and exposure to different environments.
