Job Overview

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with key clients in the travel retail sector, including duty-free operators, airport retailers, border, diplomatic and cruise lines. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong trade marketing acumen to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies that enhance brand portfolio visibility and drive sales within the travel retail channel.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts in the travel retail sector.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profit margins and ensure client retention
Sales Strategy and Execution:
Develop and execute strategic sales plans tailored to each key account, aligning with overall business objectives.
Monitor sales performance, analyse sales data, and adjust strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and potential new clients.
Trade Marketing:
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement trade marketing initiatives specific to the travel retail environment.
Plan and execute promotional activities, merchandising strategies, and in-store displays to enhance brand presence.
Analyse the effectiveness of trade marketing campaigns and adjust tactics as necessary.
Market Analysis:
Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behaviour within the travel retail sector.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, operations, finance, and brand partners, to ensure seamless execution of account strategies.
Coordinate with sales – operations, brand partner logistics to ensure timely delivery of products to clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in key account management, preferably within the travel retail and wines and spirits sectors.
Proven experience in trade marketing and executing marketing strategies in Global Travel Retail environments.
Strong understanding of the travel retail market dynamics and customer behaviour.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Fluency in English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus.
Willingness to travel as required.
