SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Schreiner University seeks a dynamic Social Media Coordinator & Content Creator to lead our digital storytelling and online engagement efforts. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role will collaborate with Schreiner Athletics and other key departments to enhance the university's social media presence, drive engagement, and support institutional goals in student recruitment, retention, alumni relations, and donor engagement.

As a key Marketing and Communications team member, the Social Media Coordinator will develop and manage content strategies, visual storytelling, and digital campaigns that showcase the Schreiner experience and align with the university's brand identity and strategic vision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop and implement creative social media campaigns aligned with Schreiner University's mission and strategic goals.

Create, curate, and manage original digital content including, graphics, photos, videos, and written posts across multiple platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).

Maintain a content calendar coordinating key university initiatives, marketing campaigns, and events.

Monitor and analyze social media engagement, adjusting strategies for optimized performance.

Collaborate closely with Schreiner Athletics for engaging game-day coverage, athlete features, and sports highlights.

Provide live event coverage for athletics, admissions, and donor engagement events.

Foster meaningful online interactions with prospective and current students, alumni, and donors.

Ensure adherence to Schreiner University's brand voice, tone, and visual identity.

Utilize social media analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, Later.com, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, etc.) for performance tracking and reporting.

Assist the Director in crisis communication and reputation management online.

Train and supervise student interns/ambassadors, assisting in content creation and engagement.

Partner with Graphic Design and Web Teams for cohesive storytelling.

Performs other duties as assigned to support the functions of a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or related field.

Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and community engagement.

Strong proficiency in graphic design, photography, and videography.

Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator).

Experience with social media management tools (Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later.com).

Knowledge of commonly used Internet browsers and Microsoft Outlook.

Excellent writing and editing skills with adaptability for different platforms and audiences.

Strong organizational skills, managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Passion for higher education marketing, student engagement, and digital storytelling.

License - Must have a valid Texas driver's license, related insurance, and a good driving record to drive any vehicle, including personally owned vehicles, on behalf of the University.
