We're seeking a results-driven freelance SEO & ASO Specialist to own and execute our end-to-end search visibility strategy across both search engines and app stores.

Role Description

We’re seeking a Freelance SEO & ASO Specialist to lead the organic growth strategy for our Mobile Coupon App, which spans both a website and a mobile application (iOS & Android). This role includes optimizing our web content for Google Search and our app listings for Google Play and the App Store. The ideal candidate will drive traffic, installs, and conversions through smart keyword targeting, technical SEO, and content development. Must be based in Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, or Coquitlam, with in-person office reporting twice a month.

Key Responsibilities

SEO

Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis to target high-intent traffic for coupon-related searches
Develop and implement on-page SEO for web content, blogs, store landing pages, and category pages
Optimize technical SEO elements (site speed, mobile-friendliness, crawlability, structured data)
Create SEO content such as blog copy and metadata, articles, infographics, creatives and etc.
Build and manage backlinks through outreach, guest posting, citations, and partnerships
Track KPIs via Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Looker Studio dashboards

ASO

Optimize app store listings (Google Play and Apple App Store), including title, subtitle, keywords, and description
Design or coordinate screenshot and icon optimization for better conversion
Analyze app performance through ASO tools and apply insights to increase organic installs
Run keyword A/B tests and localize listings for the Canadian market (and future international expansion)

Strategy & Reporting

Develop a quarterly SEO + ASO roadmap and content calendar
Prepare monthly performance reports and strategy updates to present during in-office sessions
Collaborate with our marketing team, designer, and content team to align SEO with ongoing campaigns
Stay current on industry trends and algorithm updates (Google, Apple, Play Store)

Qualifications

2+ years of hands-on experience in SEO and ASO (preferably for mobile-first products or SaaS)
Strong portfolio showing SEO results (ranking growth, organic traffic, backlinks) and ASO performance (CTR, installs)
Proficiency in SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, Google Search Console, Looker Studio
Familiarity with app store analytics tools like AppTweak, Sensor Tower, or MobileAction
Strong copywriting and content strategy skills for both technical and promotional content
Comfortable with WordPress or Content Management System-based content updates
Understanding of Local SEO and mobile page optimization
Excellent communication, reporting, and collaboration skills
Must be based in Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, or Coquitlam
Availability to visit our Vancouver office twice a month for performance reporting and alignment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Demonstrated track record of improving search engine rankings

Nice to have

Experience with Shopify or affiliate coupon platforms
Graphic skills for creating basic visuals or supervising designers (e.g., app screenshots, blog banners)
Knowledge of Google Ads, YouTube SEO, or paid UA campaigns (for synergy with organic strategies)
Familiarity with marketing automation or CRM tools
