The Digital Lead will be responsible for setting an example for their department by modeling exceptional customer experiences. This includes engaging peers to provide the best possible shopping experience, particularly during the checkout process. The role requires effective communication with team members, assigning daily work tasks, and mentoring and coaching others to exceed customer service and sales goals. The Digital Lead will also support the training of new team members and cross-training high-potential talent, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Digital Lead will work closely with leadership on department scheduling, focusing on team member engagement, customer service improvement, and store profitability. They will ensure product freshness by monitoring execution of rotation and dating policies, guide the team in compliance with food safety standards, and create an environment that supports Meijer’s culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The role may also involve operating a register and handling cash, participating in inventory processes, and acting in a lead capacity in other departments as needed. This position is not exhaustive of all responsibilities, and the Digital Lead may be required to perform other duties as assigned or required.
