SEO/SEM Specialist – Full-Time, W2 Employee
Location: FullyRemote (California or Oklahoma-based applicants ONLY)
Compensation: $25-$30/hr (based on experience)
Time Commitment: 30-40 hours/week
Start Date: February 2nd, 2026
Dirty Marketing Group® is a digital marketing agency specializing in elevating the digital presence of landscapers/landscaping companies and green industry professionals, including landscape suppliers, wholesale nurseries, and landscape associations. We’re looking for an SEO/SEM Specialist who can help us strengthen our clients’ visibility, authority, and lead generation through search-optimized content and highly-targeted Google Ads. If you like treating search as an ecosystem—earning visibility organically, capturing demand with ads, and improving the website experience so more clicks become calls and form fills—you might be our kind of person.
This is a full-time, hourly W2 employee role.
About the Role
This is a hands-on execution role supporting a portfolio of clients (about 6-8). You’ll collaborate with our CEO on overall strategy and priorities, then take ownership of implementation—connecting SEO, paid search, and on-site improvements into one coordinated search engine.
The work spans technical SEO, content development, on-page optimization, landing page creation and optimization, and Google Ads management. Success in this role looks like stronger visibility and measurable lead growth: more qualified clicks turning into calls and form fills.
What You'll Be Doing
- Technical SEO & Audits. Run technical and on-site audits (indexing, crawl issues, redirects, broken links, site structure, basic speed/CWV considerations) and prioritize fixes that will move performance.
- Google Ads Management. Build, manage, and optimize highly targeted Google Ads Search campaigns, including keyword selection, match types, negative keywords, ad copy, assets, and ongoing testing.
- Content Creation. Write high-quality, SEO-optimized content for blogs, service pages, and landing pages that align with client goals and brand voice.
- Keyword Research. Perform keyword and topic research to guide both content and campaign direction. Identify search intent, volume, and ranking opportunities for both local and national audiences.
- On-Page Optimization. Optimize titles, headers, meta descriptions, internal linking, and overall content structure for SEO best practices and readability.
- Landing Page Development. Create and optimize landing pages to improve message match from keyword → ad → page, increase conversion rate, and turn more traffic into calls and form fills.
- Website Updates. Upload and format content within client CMS platforms (WordPress, Wix, etc.), ensuring it’s visually clean, mobile-friendly, and properly tagged for SEO.
- Measurement & Tracking Support. Help ensure tracking is accurate across GA4, Search Console, and Google Ads (and GTMr/call tracking when applicable) so results are measurable and trustworthy.
- Performance Evaluation. Monitor organic and paid performance (rankings, impressions, clicks, conversions, CPL/CPA, engagement). Share what’s working, what’s not, and what you recommend next.
- Research & Trends. Stay current on algorithm updates, platform changes, and best practices across both SEO and search ads, then translate that into practical improvements for clients.
Our Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years of hands-on SEO experience (agency or in-house)
- 2+ years of Google Ads experience (agency or in-house)
- Strong understanding of how SEO and paid search support each other
- Proven ability to write and optimize search-focused content (service pages, landing pages, blogs) with a clear, conversion-minded structure.
- Experience with Google Analytics, Search Console, and keyword research tools (e.g. SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms)
- Ability to perform and interpret SEO audits and present actionable recommendations
- Confident in on-page SEO (titles, headings, metadata, internal linking, content structure) and able to spot technical issues that impact performance.
- Comfortable analyzing performance metrics and translating them into strategic insights
- Familiarity with website platforms like Wix, WordPress, or Squarespace
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple client priorities with consistent follow-through.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to tone, clarity, and brand voice
- Experience or knowledge in the green industry (landscaping, lawn care, horticulture) a plus!
This May Be the Perfect Fit If...
- You geek out over analytics, rankings, and keyword data
- You’re just as comfortable writing a content outline as you are analyzing site performance
- You love helping small businesses grow their online visibility and authority
- You’re organized, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple clients at once
- You take ownership of your results and care about driving real ROI, not just completing tasks.
- You’re naturally curious and always up to date on SEO and SEM best practices
- You enjoy collaborating with a creative team but can work independently without hand-holding
- You’re looking to grow with a mission-driven agency that values your expertise and initiative
