Women’s Habitat is a multi-service feminist organization supporting women-identified individuals and their dependents impacted by intimate partner and familial violence and poverty. Women’s Habitat provides shelter and services to self-identified women and their dependents who are survivors of violence. Both the residential - opened in 1978 - and outreach community services and programs - opened in 2006 - offer a suite of trauma-informed VAW services to support self-identified women and their dependents.

  • *JOB SUMMARY**

The Social Media, Marketing and Communications Coordinator will support WHE to develop, implement and evaluate social media, marketing and communication strategies to improve our identity, grow our presence and increase our revenue.

  • *RESPONSIBILITIES**:
  • *Philanthropy**:
  • Support the agency to communicate externally and showcase its services, programs and outcomes to community donors and volunteers through digital and non-digital reporting and social media engagement.
  • Support the development of social media campaigns and events
  • Provide technical and digital support and expertise in the development and implementation of philanthropic initiatives and events
  • Support the Philanthropy team to assist with disseminating donor reports
  • Support the Philanthropy team to assist with the preparation of stewardship reports and other materials and packages
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy team to produce power point presentations to major annual donors and report on how their donation was used
  • Collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy, Resources and Systems to produce and distribute event related materials
  • Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, Resources and Systems and in collaboration with the Philanthropy team, coordinate activities related to the development and implementation of the annual stewardship plan for all donors
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy team to deploy donor recognition strategies across various mediums including print, website and social media.
  • Coordinate online communications related to events, including the distribution of newsletters, annual reports, solicitation follow-up and invites
  • In collaboration with the Philanthropy team supports the development and execution of strategic briefs and digital fundraising campaigns aimed at both the acquisition of new donors as well as maintaining the annual fund of monthly and one-time donors.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, Resources and Systems and in collaboration with the Philanthropy team create donation forms, event invites and e-marketing lists using fundraising management platform (eg Keela, Givergy)
  • Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, Resources and Systems and in collaboration with the Philanthropy team, upgrade and review monthly giving program promotion, stewardship, material distribution and workflow automation in the fundraising management platform
  • Support the online experience for third party events (eg Givery platform)
  • Provide accurate and insightful digital income analysis reports to ensure digital fundraising efforts are delivered on target
  • Prepare reports using analytics regarding website visits, donor acquisition and online engagement
  • Assist the Philanthropy team in thank you initiatives throughout the year with the participation of the Executive Director, other members of the management team, Board members, staff, students and/or volunteers
  • Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, Resources and Systems and in collaboration with the Philanthropy team assists with stakeholder communication surveys to improve donor experience
  • Work with the Philanthropy team to develop high quality, compelling and creative content for various social media campaigns and posts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube), blog writing, images and video
  • *Services and Advocacy Communications**:
  • Support the agency in the use of digital technology in the implementation of programming and/or activities including but not limited to virtual platforms.
  • Provide technical and digital support and expertise in the development and implementation of services and programming as well as during special events/activities
  • Supports the agency to employ social media to communicate organizational position regarding various topics

  • Support the review of existing marketing and communications strategies
  • Support the development of an external communications plan for WHE
