The Hilton Motif Seattle is excited to announce an opening for a dynamic Sales and Marketing Director! This stylish boutique hotel is ideally positioned on 5th Avenue, nestled between Pike Place Market and Union Street, surrounded by the city's finest dining, shopping, and entertainment venues.
As the Sales and Marketing Director, you will play a pivotal role in creating and executing innovative business strategies, driving hotel sales, and enhancing overall performance. Your main focus will be on increasing revenues across all streams, including Rooms, Catering, Events, and Marketing.
Your Key Responsibilities Include
- Producing the hotel’s Annual Multi-Year Commercial Strategy Plan collaboratively with property leaders and regional support.
- Connecting performance needs with tailored solutions curated by the Hilton enterprise across key segments.
- Overseeing overall revenue strategies encompassing group rooms, banquets, catering, and transient sales.
- Implementing Business Review Guidelines and optimizing pricing strategies to maximize sales opportunities.
- Supporting B2B marketing efforts, digital marketing, social media, and public relations initiatives.
- Collaborating with Commercial Leaders to refine revenue forecasts and develop strategies for varying market demands.
- Guiding your team in achieving departmental expense budgets and financial forecasts.
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of competitor and market activities.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Leading regular Sales and Marketing Optimization meetings, translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Contributing to communication regarding performance realities and drivers.
- Upholding Hilton brand standards and corporate identity.
- Recruiting and retaining top talent for the sales and marketing teams.
- Developing team members through ongoing performance evaluations and career planning.
- Fostering a culture aligned with Hilton’s inclusion and corporate responsibility goals.
Ownership, Customer, and Stakeholder Relations
- Reporting on performance and commercial activities, ensuring transparency and timely communication with key business partners.
- Building strong relationships with local venues, influencers, and travel partners.
- Engaging with customers from diverse sales segments and facilitating impactful site visits.
Sales Responsibilities
- Representing the hotel in negotiating large group accommodations and special event contracts.
- Preparing proposals to inform prospective customers about room and meeting space availability.
- Conducting outside sales activities to promote business opportunities and engage with local markets.
To Succeed in This Role, You Should Have
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Hotel Sales, Catering, or Marketing.
- Director-level management experience.
- A four-year college degree is preferred.
- At least two years of leadership experience in a full-service hotel.
- The ability to travel at short notice and adapt to schedule changes.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and exceptional communication skills.
- Analytical skills to perform critical evaluations.
Preferred Qualifications That Could Set You Apart:
- Advanced degree coursework in business administration, marketing, or communications.
- Experience in large matrix organizations.
- Multilingual abilities.
- Familiarity with Hilton software programs.
The annual salary range for this role is $160,000--$210,000, commensurate with experience and location.
