Role Description
The Entrepreneurship Faculty Member is responsible for designing and delivering dynamic, experience-based instruction that equips students with the mindset, skills, and tools necessary to launch, grow, and sustain ventures. Core areas of instruction include business model development, opportunity recognition, startup finance, innovation strategy, and entrepreneurial leadership. Faculty are expected to foster a learning environment that emphasizes creativity, resilience, and real-world application through case studies, simulations, and venture-based projects. This role also involves mentoring students, cultivating industry partnerships, and contributing to a curriculum that supports entrepreneurial thinking across disciplines and prepares learners to drive impact in emerging and global markets.

This role also involves mentoring students, cultivating industry partnerships, and contributing to a curriculum that supports entrepreneurial thinking across disciplines and prepares learners to drive impact in emerging and global markets.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership
- Deliver asynchronous lecture content that aligns with course learning outcomes and Elmwood's instructional design standards.
- Ensure curriculum fidelity, pacing, and instructional coherence across all course sections.
- Lead weekly instructional team meetings to analyze student progress, assessment trends, and emerging issues.
- Supervise Course Mentors and Assessors, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development.
- Coordinate delivery of academic support and summative assessments across the instructional team.
- Support onboarding and training of new instructional staff for assigned courses.
- Serve as the primary academic contact for assigned courses, managing instructional quality and student experience.
- Respond to academic issues, complaints, and appeals; serve as final authority on student conduct within the course.
- Implement academic interventions and content updates to improve learner success and satisfaction.
- In partnership with the Program Director, monitor cohort-level data on student performance, progression, and engagement.
- Identify trends and collaborate on strategies to promote persistence and learning outcomes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the insitution's academic offerings through data-informed decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Instructional Design, or related discipline)
- 3+ years of experience teaching or mentoring in online or asynchronous academic environments
- Demonstrated expertise in course design, delivery, and faculty coordination
- Familiarity with learning management systems and instructional technologies
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience working with global or nontraditional learners
- Doctorate in a relevant field
- Experience in competency-based or cohort-based education models
- Background in project-based learning or workforce-aligned program delivery
- Experience supervising instructional teams and facilitating professional development
- Understanding of academic policies, student conduct, and institutional procedures
- Prior work in cross-cultural education settings or with sponsored scholarship programs
- Mission-driven and student-centered

Term-Based Employment Model
- Each position is hired for a single 16-week academic term
- Renewal for subsequent terms is contingent upon student enrollment levels and program needs
- Faculty may hold multiple part-time roles (including Course Mentor and Assessor roles as well as other part-time roles at Elmwood Institute) simultaneously across different courses or cohorts to create a full-time equivalent workload
- Term renewals are not guaranteed and are evaluated on a term-by-term basis
- Fully remote with flexible scheduling within established course deadlines and office hour commitments
- Requires reliable internet access and ability to work asynchronously across global time zones
- Expected time commitment: average of 10-15 hours per week.
