The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, an independent Catholic school for girls located in Villanova, Pennsylvania, is seeking a creative, collaborative, and goal-oriented Assistant Director of Marketing and Social Media for their Marketing and Communication Team.
Job Description
The Assistant Director of Marketing and Social Media (ADMS), a full-time position, helps promote external and internal awareness and understanding of the Academy of Notre Dame and all that it has to offer. The ADMS will aid in driving interest from new families considering the Academy for their daughters, current families understanding the value of a Notre Dame education, and alumnae remaining connected to their alma mater. Through social media, digital marketing, print marketing, videography and more, the ADMS will bring a fresh perspective to the creation of visual content and brand promotion, helping to distinguish Notre Dame as the leader in independent, Catholic, all-girls' education. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management, the ADMS will help to ensure brand compliance and work to expand awareness of the Academy in the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
- Create compelling news stories and features for digital media that can also be pushed to other channels (i.e. social media, school website, magazine, press releases, print materials, etc.).
- Manage and oversee Notre Dame's social media and serve as the primary administrator of social media accounts; monitoring, developing, and posting content to Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Stay on top of trends and new technologies related to social media to enhance the Academy's digital footprint. Utilize a storytelling rubric to ensure major themes and points of distinction for the Academy are amplified.
- Plan and execute programs and marketing strategies that enhance the visibility and public perception of the Academy and provide analytics to measure and report on the success of these initiatives.
- Implement digital marketing campaigns, provide campaign reports, and stay on trend with new marketing strategies. Coordinate all ad placements and monitor analytics to determine ROI.
- Support the efforts of the Admissions Office including digital marketing campaigns, social media, ad placements, and other initiates to drive enrollment.
- Support the efforts of the Advancement Office including branding, social media and marketing initiatives.
- Provide guidance and strategy support for other departmental accounts (athletics, alumnae, college counseling, etc.).
- Serve as the school’s coordinator of photography and videography by overseeing all hiring and budgeting.
- Be active in professional associations and peer networks to help monitor trends and stay abreast of best practices and creative ideas.
- Attend school events to stay current with community ideas for social media and marketing.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with Adobe Suite, Google Workspace (G Suite), and Canva required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; superior proofreading skills.
- Strong photography and video editing skills and experience.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and strong collaborative and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as a part of a team.
- Experience working in education or other non-profit organizations is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Self-starter and excellent problem solver.
- Be an active and engaged community member, participating in the life of the school, including occasional evening and weekend events.
Weekend and evening hours are occasionally required for urgent communications or social media posting.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or other relevant field
Experience: 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in marketing and/or communications; this is not an entry level position.
Other: Hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM daily, on campus.
Weekend and evening hours as necessary to cover/support Academy events.
