Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Transformation Consultant to serve as a strategic partner to our customers in the legal technology space. This role combines eDiscovery expertise with business transformation capabilities to guide corporations, law firms, and legal service providers from their current state to an optimized future state that delivers operational efficiency, cost reduction, and strategic advantage, leveraging Nuix solutions and product offerings .
Role Purpose
The Business Transformation Consultant acts as a trusted advisor who bridges the gap between our technology solutions and our customers' business objectives. You will work directly with stakeholders to understand their current workflows, identify transformation opportunities, and architect sustainable solutions that leverage our platform to drive measurable business outcomes
Role Location
This position will be based in our Reston office. The candidate is required to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week but may voluntarily elect to work either remotely or from the Reston office for the remaining days of the week.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Engagement & Discovery
- Lead strategic blueprint sessions with C-suite executives, legal operations leaders, and key stakeholders to define transformation vision and success criteria
- Conduct comprehensive current-state assessments of customers' eDiscovery operations, workflows, technology stack, and organizational capabilities
- Identify pain points, inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization across the EDRM lifecycle
- Develop detailed future-state operational models that align with customer business objectives and industry best practices whilst leveraging Nuix’s product capabilities
- Standardize approaches
Business Process Transformation
- Deep dive into existing business processes across identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, analysis, and production phases
- Re-engineer workflows to eliminate waste, reduce costs, accelerate timelines, and improve quality outcomes
- Design scalable, repeatable processes that leverage our technology platform to maximum effect
- Create process documentation, standard operating procedures, and governance frameworks for the transformed state
Business Solution Design
- Translate business requirements into tailored solution designs that address specific customer challenges
- Configure transformation roadmaps with phased implementation approaches, milestones, and success metrics
- Align technology capabilities with business process requirements to ensure seamless adoption
- Develop business cases that quantify ROI, cost savings, efficiency gains, and risk reduction
Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership
- Build trusted relationships with legal, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders across customer organizations
- Facilitate workshops, working sessions, and executive briefings to drive alignment and buy-in
- Guide customers through organizational change management, addressing resistance and building transformation momentum
- Act as an escalation point for complex business challenges during transformation initiatives
Knowledge Transfer & Enablement
- Educate customer teams on transformed processes, best practices, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Develop training materials, playbooks, and enablement resources to sustain transformation outcomes
- Mentor customer staff to build internal capability and ensure long-term success
- Share industry insights, benchmarks, and emerging trends to position customers as leaders in legal operations
Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Industry Expertise
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in eDiscovery operations, legal technology, or legal services
- Deep knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and its practical application
- Proven understanding of how corporations, law firms, and legal service providers manage discovery workflows
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, case law, and industry standards governing eDiscovery (FRCP, data privacy, information governance)
Business Transformation Skills
- Demonstrated success leading business transformation or process improvement initiatives
- Strong business process analysis, mapping, and re-engineering capabilities
- Experience conducting current-state assessments and designing future-state operational models
- Ability to develop compelling business cases with quantified value propositions
Consulting & Communication
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels
- Outstanding facilitation and presentation skills for workshops, executive briefings, and strategic sessions
- Strong analytical thinking with ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations
- Excellent written communication for documentation, proposals, and strategic deliverables
Technical Acumen
- Understanding of legal technology platforms, review tools, and eDiscovery software solutions
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value and operational outcomes
- Familiarity with integration points across legal tech ecosystems (case management, matter management, data repositories)
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, JD, or advanced degree in related field
- Working knowledge of Nuix solutions including Workstation, Automate, Investigate, Discover
- Professional certifications in business analysis (CBAP), or process improvement (Lean Six Sigma)
- Experience with change management methodologies
- Background in management consulting, especially with Big 4 or legal technology consulting firms
- Track record of thought leadership through speaking, writing, or industry association participation
