Brief Description
As the Director of Digital Media Planning, you will be a vital participant in developing and executing strategic direction for the paid digital media programs of our clients and guide the planning and media buying execution to acquire, cultivate, retain, and upgrade donors or customers. The ideal candidate will combine significant strategic planning, digital media management, analytic and account management experience, along with the ability to flourish in a fast-paced, creative environment with ever-shifting schedules and priorities. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter that works with leadership team towards an efficient, highly productive, steadfast environment that executes upon all the inputs from other Moore Digital departments, sister agencies, and clients.
Moore Media and Digital, a division of Moore, works to build donor surround sound with video, audio, and other digital messages. Part of this is through addressable media where you know who the person is you are targeting; this includes programmatic video, CTV, programmatic display, email, texting, and some social ads. And part is through non-addressable media like DRTV, traditional radio advertising, and other digital services like website design.

Your Impact
- Support the leadership of the planning department, including direct and indirect reports that may include a team of digital media planners and producers with varying levels of experience.
- Fulfill management responsibilities including motivating team members to achieve business objectives, managing staff including hiring, performance evaluations and improvement planning, training, development, and mentoring of direct and indirect reports and other staff.
- Monitor team member’s job satisfaction and work with the leadership team to maintain or improve.
- Provide support through skill development, results analysis, and feedback to enhance their ability to make smart decisions.
- Work with internal (sister agencies and strategy team) and external clients to develop strategic plans and projections for existing and incoming clients.
- Participate in request-for-proposal responses by providing an overview of strategies, cost and revenue projections, and by answering technical questions about media department capabilities.
- Serve as client owner for a limited number of Moore Digital clients, managing the relationship of the client with the Digital Media team including client meetings, overall strategy planning, managing execution of plans and ensuring that products are delivered as defined in the scope.
- Provide leadership for some Moore Digital clients, including having a full understanding of the goals of the client and providing strategic insight and guidance to the team to execute successfully.
- Work with media planning and buying teams to establish the strategic roadmap for digital clients, testing and refining methodology that spans all paid digital media initiatives, before, during, and after campaigns.
- Work with analytics team to develop optimal reporting solution for paid digital media, including search, social, programmatic, and others.
- Provide leadership for internal teams and external media agencies or partners to identify opportunities that lead to an effective or efficient outcome.
- Continuously research and recommend new advertising venues, creative formats and technologies, staying abreast of trends and recommending possible implementations for our clients.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of multichannel plans and reports.
- Coordinate with leadership on managing of projects through the department, in order to provide timely responses to clients and client teams.
- Contribute to the development of department processes, procedures, and standardization of work product.
- Work with the team to create open lines of communication and implement solutions to ensure internal and external teams are getting the information they need when they need it.
- Remove roadblocks that impede team members from doing their best work.
Your Background
- 5+ years of experience developing and managing digital media campaigns, including at least 2 years of experience leading digital media teams.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; degree in marketing or communications preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Bing Ads, Facebook, and programmatic display platforms preferred.
- Experience with e-CRM platforms such as Blackbaud Convio/Luminate Online, Salsa, Classy, Engaging Networks highly preferred.
- Some knowledge and experience with CMS a plus.
- Wide and deep understanding of programming media, search, and paid social landscape, with the ability to recommend appropriate tactics within each to generate acquisition and revenue growth.
- Nonprofit-specific experience preferred; experience generating new leads, customers, and revenue an absolute must.
- Leadership and people management experience and proficiency; customer service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to handle multiple complex projects; a resourceful self-starter who can take initiative and follow through on projects.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
