Job Title: Marketing Coordinator

Reports to: Manager, Marketing

Salary: $39,526 - $52,689 annually,

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 4:30, 75 hours biweekly, additional as required

Status: Permanent, Full-Time

Union: Exempt

Location: St. Catharines and/or other designated location(s)

Position Summary

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator supports Hospice Niagara’s marketing, communications, and fundraising activities. This includes coordinating social media content, maintaining website and event pages, and assisting in the creation and production of marketing materials, advertisements, and promotional tools.

The Coordinator helps ensure consistent brand presentation across all channels and contributes to the successful delivery of marketing, communications, and fundraising initiatives. All duties are performed in accordance with Hospice Niagara’s policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of marketing and communication initiatives aligned with Hospice Niagara’s vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities.
  • Assist in creating and coordinating marketing materials and campaigns across print, digital, and social media platforms.
  • Maintain and update marketing collateral, calendars, and content schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and posts.
  • Manage updates and engagement across social media channels, websites, and online portals (including CRM systems).
  • Assist with marketing and communications for fundraising, donor engagement, capital campaigns, and special events including but not limited to updating presentations, posters, and signage.
  • Support donor recognition efforts through photography, social media posts, and digital content.
  • Provide marketing, communications, administrative and logistical support to internal and third-party fundraising event hosts, as required.
  • Respond to donor and ticket buyer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Update marketing-related content in the Hospice Niagara Portal and event management platforms (e.g., AKA Raisin)
  • Maintain the confidentiality and comply with all privacy and accessibility legislation (e.g., CASL, AODA).
  • Actively participate in organizational and community engagement events, fostering awareness of hospice palliative care and ensure their ongoing success.
  • Support and mentor volunteers or students involved in marketing and communications activities.
  • Participate on internal and external committees, as required.
  • Perform general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.

Skills & Attributes

  • Creativity and attention to detail in developing engaging marketing materials and visual content.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud Suite).
  • Experience managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, Meta Business Suite, Later) and CRM/email marketing tools.
  • Knowledge of website content management and print production processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborative team player with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Resourceful, adaptable, and committed to Hospice Niagara’s mission and values.
  • Work proactively to support organizational goals, identify potential issues, and bring forward solutions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for events.
  • Valid Ontario “G” driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and minimum $1M liability insurance.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • One to three years of related experience (including internships or co-op placements).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Training or experience in social media or website content management (asset).
  • Bilingual in English and French at an advance level (preferred).
  • Experience in health care or non-profit sectors (preferred).
  • Favourable Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 12 months).
  • Completion of Fundamentals of Palliative Care and Mask Fit within 12 months of hire (required).
