Position Overview
Avolta is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Student Intern to join our team as part of a co-op program. This internship is structured as an educational and experiential learning opportunity, designed for students passionate about social media and digital marketing who wish to gain applied knowledge in a professional setting.
The internship provides training and learning experiences comparable to those found in post-secondary programs, with an emphasis on skill development and knowledge transfer rather than organizational benefit. Interns will work under the close supervision of experienced professionals, ensuring mentorship and support throughout the placement. Please note that this is an unpaid, pro bono opportunity, intended strictly for students seeking co-op credit and academic enrichment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of social media strategies to enhance Avolta’s online presence.
- Create and curate engaging content for platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas for social media campaigns.
- Help monitor and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize strategies.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media efforts with Avolta’s mission and goals.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in all tasks and interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of social media platforms, tools, and analytics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative thinking and the ability to generate engaging content ideas.
- High level of responsibility, maturity, and a willingness to learn.
- Must be eligible to receive co-op credit through your academic institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- Interest in the technology, security, or automotive industries.
- Knowledge of SEO and digital advertising strategies.
