As part of Cengage Global Marketing Services, the Web Services team provides our go-to-market teams with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) expertise to promote the online presence of Marketing websites across Cengage and drive organic growth. We seek a highly skilled and expertSEO Manager to lead our SEO strategy.

Responsibilities

Create and implement comprehensive SEO plans to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic for Cengage Marketing websitesWork closely with go-to-market partners to align SEO strategies with business goals and objectivesAct as the main liaison with SEO consultants/services to review and enhance SEO plans to improve search engine rankings and ensure alignment with business goalsDevelop an overarching go-to-market SEO strategy plan for Cengage Group Marketing that considers all business unit marketing websites and regionsWork with social and paid media teams to ensure cohesive marketing effortsWork with web production owners to implement technical and content SEO strategiesGuide content teams with targeted keyword strategies. Create keyword playbooks and train teams on how to implementIdentify and work with internal teams to resolve technical SEO issues to optimize website performanceTrack SEO metrics such as traffic, rankings, and conversion rates, share of voice, competitor activities and adjust strategies accordinglyRegularly meet and provide actionable recommendations and clear, concise reports to stakeholders on the status of their SEO campaignsKeep abreast of the SEO trends and algorithm updates to maintain competitive advantageBe responsible for the work of the SEO SpecialistRequirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Decision Science, Information Technology or related field.5+ years of experience as an SEO lead in a fast-paced environmentIn-depth knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with standard SEO tools (e.g., BrightEdge, Moz, Google Search Console, GA4)Proficiency with ExcelUnderstanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptDemonstrated ability to analyze large sets of data and use it to guide SEO strategy and decision-makingStrong proficiency in data interpretation, reporting, and deriving actionable insights from analytics toolsAbility to present data in a clear, actionable way and make recommendations that align with stakeholder objectivesKnowledgeable with paid and social media marketing and its impact on SEOExperience collaborating with external experts and vendorsExperience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across a large organizationExcellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex SEO concepts to clients and internal teamsPreferred:

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
