QA Automation Intern
GlowtifyShare this job:
We are looking for an aspiring Software Engineer or QA Specialist to join us for a 4-to-8 month internship. In this role, you will be our "Bug Hunter in Chief." You will work directly with our Senior Engineers to ensure our AI-powered platform is robust, reliable, and bug-free. This is a unique opportunity to learn how to transition from manual testing to writing scalable automated test scripts in a production environment using modern tools like TypeScript and Playwright/Cypress.
Who We Are
At Glowtify, we strive to be the best in the world at building marketing strategies that accelerate e-commerce growth. Our web-based platform seamlessly syncs with merchants’ marketing channels. It offers a panoramic view of their entire marketing landscape, from product launches to promotions and audience targeting, while distilling rich data into actionable insights. Think of Glowtify as an AI-powered co-pilot helping to guide merchants through the complexities of e-commerce.
Eligibility Requirements
- Student Status: You must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar) and returning to school after the internship.
- Work Authorization: You must be legally authorized to work in Canada for the duration of the internship.
Daily Responsibilities
- Learn the Platform: Gain a deep understanding of our product by performing manual testing on new features and UI improvements.
- Automate Everything: Assist in writing and maintaining end-to-end (E2E) automated tests to catch regressions before they hit production.
- Document Defects: Report bugs with clear, concise steps to reproduce to help our developers fix issues faster.
- Collaborate: Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews while soaking up knowledge from our Senior Technical Leaders.
- Release Quality: Act as the final checkpoint for quality before we deploy updates to our users.
You Will Thrive in This Role if You Have
- Strong fundamental knowledge of programming. We use TypeScript, but proficiency in JavaScript, Java, or Python is a great start.
- A "detective" mindset where you enjoy figuring out how things work and, more importantly, how to break them.
- Basic familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM manipulation).
- Excellent written communication skills, as your bug reports need to be clear and readable.
- The ability to work onsite at our Old Montreal office at least 2 days a week.
- Fluency in English (conversational French is a plus).
Candidates with an Edge Will Have
- Previous internship experience in web development or QA.
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or Jest).
- Experience with Git/GitHub for version control.
- An interest in E-commerce (Shopify) or Generative AI.
