Director, UX and Visual Design

Xynergy (parent company Consumer51 LLC) is looking for a UX and design director with a high level of technical skills to lead a growing team of UX and visual designers.

Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end design and build of websites and applications.

Collaborate with clients to understand their business and guide them to success.

Create wireframes and visual designs informed by HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Flexbox, and CSS Grid.

Develop pixel‑precise designs using Adobe Creative Cloud, ensuring visual quality and brand consistency.

Partner with developers to ensure smooth user journeys and seamless implementation.

Direct design and marketing teams to build high‑converting landing pages and advertisements.

Manage and mentor a team of designers, ensuring their work meets client expectations and Consumer51 standards.

Lead recurring design reviews, communicate client needs to designers, and present the design team's work to clients.

Qualifications / Technical Skills

Expertise in Adobe XD, Sketch, Illustrator or equivalent vector‑graphics tools.

Proficiency in semantic HTML & CSS, with strong Bootstrap 2.3.2 experience and knowledge of Flexbox and CSS Grid.

Deep understanding of UX best practices and accessibility principles.

Strong visual design sense, knowledge of modern trends, typography and layout fundamentals.

Experience in designing for responsive layouts and modern CSS.

You lead the design team to deliver the best product, are a lifelong learner eager to try new tools, empathize with clients and understand their goals, handle multiple high‑priority tasks gracefully, and apply design thinking to business goals.

UX prototyping (InVision, XD, etc.)

WordPress theme/plugin development

Expression Engine CMS

Vanilla JavaScript / jQuery

HTML Canvas

D3.js

AfterEffects / Premiere Pro

Managing designers or developers

Teaching workshops or classes

Hours & Location

30‑40 hours per week. Monday–Friday, 9 am – 5 pm. Albuquerque.
