JOB DESCRIPTION

Transitioning from your current role as a Notary to becoming a Digital Reporter ("DR") could be a significant shift. As a DR, you would oversee civil litigation proceedings and document all aspects, including witness testimony. It involves a more detailed and procedural involvement in legal proceedings compared to typical notarial duties. Are you interested in exploring this transition further?

The Digital Reporter is responsible for

Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.
Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties.
Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation.
Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription.
Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources.
Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently.

REQUIREMENTS

State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it.
Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states).
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings.
Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment.
Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Comfortable with technology, particularly strong in keyboard skills.
Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and a professional appearance.
Open to working as an independent contractor.
Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required.
Willing to work both remotely and in person.
