About The Role
The Product Data Science team at Waymo plays a critical role in driving strategic decisions through data. As a senior leader in this team, you will oversee the development and execution of data-driven projects that support the scaling and safety of the Waymo Driver platform. Reporting to the Director of Product Data Science, you will lead a team of Business Intelligence Analysts, providing mentorship, strategic guidance, and technical oversight. Your responsibilities will include managing data pipelines, designing dashboards, and conducting analyses that inform key business and operational decisions. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence decision-making through compelling data storytelling and visualization. You will be instrumental in shaping the company's data infrastructure and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or related fields
- 2+ years of proven experience managing teams and mentoring analysts
- Strong proficiency in SQL coding and data pipeline development
- Experience in designing and maintaining dashboards and data visualizations
- Ability to influence decision-making through effective storytelling with data
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strategic thinking and project management capabilities
- Familiarity with data infrastructure, BI tools, and analytics platforms
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Business Intelligence Analysts, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery
- Own the development and maintenance of data pipelines, dashboards, and analytical reports for high-priority initiatives
- Act as a subject matter expert to develop and improve Waymo's business intelligence infrastructure
- Leverage deep technical knowledge to inform team strategy and influence best practices across the organization
- Establish and nurture cross-functional relationships to identify new opportunities and align data initiatives with business goals
- Develop project roadmaps, set long-term objectives, and serve as a role model in adopting Waymo's core values and behaviors
- Communicate insights clearly to stakeholders, influencing decision-making and operational strategies
- Continuously evaluate and improve data processes, tools, and methodologies to support scalable growth
- Competitive salary range of $196,000—$248,000 USD, commensurate with experience and location
