Software Engineer for API Integrations & Data Tasks related to E-commerce - Contract to Hire

Project Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer for a short-term contract to support our e-commerce and digital operations. This has the potential of becoming long-term. The focus is on API integrations, data migration, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and light analytics work across our key platforms.

This is a flexible, remote hourly contract with an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot API integrations between Microsoft SQL, Shopify, BigCommerce, HubSpot, and third-party tools.
• Ensure data flows reliably between platforms and resolve any linkage or sync issues
• Perform data migration tasks and cleanup between systems and databases
• Support data analytics needs, including SQL querying, reporting, and basic visualization
• Optimize platform performance and implement custom backend solutions as needed
• Collaborate remotely with our marketing, operations, and e-commerce teams

Required Skills & Experience

• At least 2 years of professional software engineering/development experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL (querying, management, automation, optimization)
• Solid experience with coding and backend work
• Familiarity with Shopify preferred
• Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM/marketing tools is a plus

Job Type: Hourly

Project Duration: 2-4 months (with potential for extension based on performance and needs)

Hours per Week: Approximately 20 hours/week (flexible based on availability and project demands)

Budget: $40–$80/hour (based on experience; please include your desired rate in your proposal)

Location Requirement: United States only (must be eligible to work as a contractor in the US)
