Mayne

Senior Content Lead

Location: London, Ontario (In-Person)

Type: Full-time

Reports to: Sales & Marketing Director

Mayne is looking for a Senior Content Lead to own the direction and execution of content across our sales channels. This is a senior individual contributor role based in person at our London, Ontario office. It is not an entry-level position and not a people-management role.

Content at Mayne plays a direct role in how we sell across e-commerce platforms like Amazon, B2B customers, and our own direct website. This role exists to bring clarity, consistency, and strong judgment to that work, and to reduce day-to-day content and social decision-making internally.

This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable owning direction, setting priorities, and working with a high degree of independence.

Responsibilities

  • Own overall content direction across ecommerce, retail partners, B2B customers, and direct-to-consumer channels
  • Define what content we create, why it matters, and how it supports product launches, ecommerce performance, and sales conversations
  • Lead development of core content assets including product imagery, video, lifestyle content, and sales-ready materials
  • Ensure content quality, consistency, and clarity across platforms such as Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Wayfair, and other customer sites
  • Own social media at a strategic level, ensuring it aligns with broader content priorities and business goals
  • Make clear decisions on what content works, what does not, and what should be stopped
  • Work closely in person with internal marketing and ecommerce team members to provide direction, remove bottlenecks, and keep content moving efficiently
  • Brief, guide, and review external photographers, videographers, and freelancers to ensure output aligns with brand and business needs

Production experience

Hands-on experience with photography, video, or design is considered an asset. Depending on the individual’s experience and skill set, this role may include hands-on production work, oversight of production, or a combination of both. The scope of production involvement will be shaped around the strengths of the person hired, with the expectation that quality, judgment, and business alignment remain the priority.

What success looks like

  • Content output has clear direction and consistency
  • Content directly supports product launches, ecommerce performance, and sales initiatives
  • Internal teams understand what content is needed and why
  • External creatives receive clear briefs and deliver usable work
  • Leadership involvement in day-to-day content decisions decreases
  • Output quality improves without adding unnecessary complexity

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in senior content, brand, or creative roles, with demonstrated ownership of direction and decision-making
  • Experience working with consumer brands, retailers, or agencies supporting retail clients
  • Comfortable owning decisions, setting direction, and being accountable for outcomes
  • Strong creative judgment and the ability to explain why something works
  • Understanding of how content supports ecommerce and retail sales
  • Able to work independently in an in-person, collaborative environment

How to apply

Please submit a resume, a brief note explaining why this role fits your experience, and links to relevant work such as brands, campaigns, or content you have helped shape. Applications that do not demonstrate decision-making responsibility may not be considered.
