Position Description

Are you interested in shifting from your current role as a Legal Admin to a position as a Digital Reporter? As a Legal Admin - Digital Reporter ("DR"), your responsibility would be to oversee civil litigation proceedings and capture all content, including witness testimony, using digital tools.

The Digital Reporter is responsible for

Supervising proceedings as an impartial custodian of the record.
Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling duties as a State Notary.
Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation.
Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription.
Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources.
Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently.

Requirements

Obtain certification or state licensure as required
Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states)
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings
Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment
Confidence in moderating live legal proceedings
Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing
Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills
Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and presentability
Willingness to work as an independent contractor
Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required
Willing to work both remotely and in person
