Job Description

This brand-new role will lead the marketing function for Eccalon’s cybersecurity offerings. The Director of Marketing – Cybersecurity Solutions will build and execute go-to-market strategies, shape brand positioning in the cyber domain, and drive pipeline growth across government and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep cybersecurity domain knowledge, proven success in marketing complex technology solutions, and the ability to cultivate relationships with CISOs, mission owners, and strategic partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cyber Marketing Strategy & Management
  • Rapidly absorb Eccalon’s cybersecurity portfolio, including managed detection & response, zero-trust architectures, vulnerability research, and threat-intelligence services.
  • Develop and own the overarching cyber go-to-market plan—market segmentation, buyer personas, messaging, demand-gen channels, and launch timelines.
  • Lead the marketing team and cross-functional stakeholders (product, engineering, sales, BD, and compliance) to deliver integrated campaigns that resonate with government, defense, and regulated-industry buyers.
  • Ensure all messaging aligns with industry frameworks and regulations (NIST 800-53/171, CMMC, FedRAMP, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
  • Manage budgets, agencies, and vendor relationships to maximize ROI across digital, events, PR, and partner programs.
  • Drive content that positions Eccalon as a thought leader—whitepapers, threat reports, webinars, social, blogs, podcasts, and conference speaking abstracts.
  • Performance Reporting & Optimization
  • Establish clear and accessible KPIs/OKRs across the marketing funnel (MQLs, SQLs, pipeline, CAC, conversion, retention).
  • Build dashboards for executive visibility and data-driven decision-making.
  • Operate the enterprise CRM/marketing-automation stack (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Pardot, Marketo) and enforce data hygiene.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews, campaign retrospectives, and A/B testing to continuously improve performance.
  • Growth & Revenue Enablement
  • Partner with sales leadership to develop account-based marketing (ABM) motions targeting federal & state agencies, system integrators, and Fortune 1000 security teams.
  • Identify new cyber market opportunities, ecosystem partnerships, and channel alliances (MSSPs, VARs, cloud marketplaces).
  • Lead competitive intelligence efforts and price-to-win analyses to inform bids and proposals.
  • Support contract negotiations, RFP/RFI responses, and product launches with compelling value propositions and customer evidence.
  • Risk & Compliance
  • Monitor emerging regulations and threat landscapes that influence buyer behavior.
  • Coordinate with legal, security, and compliance teams to ensure all marketing activities respect export controls, ITAR, EAR, and privacy laws.
  • Proactively identify reputational or operational risks in marketing programs and implement mitigation plans.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of progressive marketing experience, with 5+ years leading teams in cybersecurity, information security, or adjacent high-tech sectors.
  • Demonstrated success creating demand and meeting pipeline/revenue targets for security products or services (e.g., SaaS, MDR, threat intelligence, secure DevOps).
  • Fluency in the cybersecurity ecosystem—attack vectors, threat actors, security frameworks, compliance mandates, and procurement cycles.
  • Experience marketing to U.S. federal, defense, or critical-infrastructure customers; understanding of FAR/DFARS and government acquisition processes.
  • Strong leadership abilities: recruiting, mentoring, and motivating high-performance teams.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset; proficiency in CRM, marketing analytics, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to travel (conferences, customer meetings, partner events) up to 25%.
  • Must have the ability to pass a DoD suitability/background check.
  • Must be able to pass a Tier 3 background investigation for national security eligibility (non-critical sensitive, moderate risk).
