**ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION SAFETY NOVA SCOTIA**
Construction Safety Nova Scotia (CSNS) is an industry founded and funded membership based not-for-profit association focused on improving Occupational Health & Safety outcomes in the construction industry. Driven by our values of relationships, quality, and innovation and with the support of the Board of Directors, the CSNS team enables a safer construction industry by engaging with the membership organizations to reduce injuries and improve safety culture. CSNS provides subsidized training and services with qualified, competent, and engaging safety professionals. Working with diverse construction employers & employees, youth, and people throughout Nova Scotia, CSNS enables stakeholders to develop the knowledge, values, and skills needed for safer work practices. As leaders in Occupational Health & Safety, and through collaboration with industry partners, CSNS is making Nova Scotia safer.
- *OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE**
Under the direction of and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager, Marketing and Communications champions and stewards a communications and marketing approach that supports the member driven strategic plan and mission of the Association. The incumbent plays a key role in building and maintaining the brand and reputation of Construction Safety Nova Scotia as a leader in workplace safety positively influencing the occupational health and safety culture within the Nova Scotia construction sector.
By enhancing and maintaining public presence of the Association and its relationships with stakeholders, the Manager, Marketing and Communications enables the ability of CSNS to provide industry leading safety training, audit, advocacy and consultative services to its members. The role is accountable for managing media relations, creating marketing materials, developing marketing campaigns, managing social media presence, promoting the work of the Association to members and stakeholders, and leading event planning in service to the organization’s mission and members.
- *EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, AND OTHER Requirements**
- Post-secondary education in public relations, marketing, communications, or related field.
- Minimum five years progressive work experience in corporate public relations, communications and/or marketing.
- Technical proficiency in digital marketing campaign design, launch and management on social media platforms.
- Experience and/or certification in graphic design software (Canva, Adobe Suite)
- Vigilant attention to detail with enhanced talent and skills in visual design aesthetics as applied to digital and print media.
- Project management experience and/or certification would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act and experience in a communications role in the construction industry is considered an asset.

- *Duties and Responsibilities**
- Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, responsible for the development, management, leadership, and oversight of CSNS’ Communications Strategy including understanding stakeholder requirements and working with the leadership team to develop and implement a communications plan/calendar that supports the Association’s vision, mission, values, as well as strategic and operational plans.
- Accountable for developing, conducting, evaluating, and improving CSNS Marketing Campaigns across all relevant channels, including traditional media (print, radio, billboards) and digital media to increase awareness of the products and services provided by the Association to support business development activities.
