  • *Overview**

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications & Marketing, this role is part of the City’s Corporate Communications & Marketing team within the Corporate Services Department.

  • *Responsibilities**
  • *Leadership and management**:
  • Lead and mentor a team of creative professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Resolve conflicts effectively and build strong, cohesive teams.
  • Supervise and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
  • *Digital media and marketing**:
  • Oversee the development of digital marketing strategies, including content creation and social media management.
  • Oversee the management of corporate websites, microsites, and intranets.
  • Stay updated on digital media trends and best practices, utilizing analytics to optimize performance.
  • *Project and work management**:
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and within budget.
  • Prioritize multiple projects and requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Oversee graphic design and video projects to create compelling digital and printed content.
  • *Technical proficiency**:
  • Use analytics to make data informed decisions.
  • Manage content management systems efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements such as AODA, CASL, and MFIPPA.
  • *Communication and collaboration**:
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills for proofreading, report writing, and training purposes.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to achieve project goals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing and resolving stakeholder concerns.
  • *Strategic thinking and innovation**:
  • Offer strategic advice on digital marketing plans based on data and analytics.
  • Innovate to improve customer engagement and user experience continuously.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and tools to enhance digital marketing efforts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • *Requirements**:
  • A 3-year degree or diploma in a related field.
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience, including leading a team of creative professionals.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of graphic design/design thinking, and related software programs in order to provide guidance to design staff, achieve marketing goals and deliver successful campaigns.
  • Significant experience with social media, online communications, media relations and digital media best practices, including content creation and strategy, social media tools, video, website, analytics and trends.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with a track record of successfully managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in order to proofread material; write reports, manage expectations, and instruct and train others in specific work methods and/or procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience using content management systems and legislative requirements such as AODA, CASL, and MFIPPA.
  • Strong organizational and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in managing projects from inception to completion with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with a track record of successfully managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to advance key projects and work effectively with internal and external partners and customer service experience to effectively negotiate and resolve concerns from members of the public and other stakeholders.
  • Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
