Description

Amazon's Global Media and Entertainment (GME) organization encompasses Prime Video, Amazon Music, Twitch, Audible, and Amazon Games businesses. The GME Finance team is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Analytics/TM1 application developer to support our Finance organization. As part of our team, you will help build a highly scalable, fully automated planning and reporting platform to support our finance teams. We have a multi-year roadmap with exciting projects that aim to deliver automated planning and reporting solutions, accelerate predictive forecasting, and creating interactive UIs for our analysts.

This position requires a high level of expertise within Cognos for technical design, development and integration to solve planning and reporting challenges. Ideal candidates will have expertise in all phases of the software development life cycle in building models that scale over time while balancing accuracy, flexibility and speed. To support this quickly growing business, you must be highly analytical, setting high standards, and the ability to Think Big about opportunities and challenges facing the business.

Key job responsibilities

  • Deliver on data architecture projects and implementation of next generation financial solutions leveraging AWS resources (e.g. EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, Lambda etc.)
  • Build and deliver high quality data architecture and pipelines to support GME organization reporting needs.
  • Prepare runbooks, standard operating procedures, tutorials, on best practices for the team
  • Build and enhance software to extend system, application, or tool functionality to improve business processes and meet end user needs while working within the overall system architecture
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.
  • Rotational on-call availability for critical systems support

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant IBM Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics work including system configuration, model building and developing reports or dashboards with TM1 experience
  • Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning, forecasting and reporting
  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying business software at scale
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations, or experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing
  • Experience driving technological and process innovation
  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Experience with REST web services, XML, JSON, or experience in software development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
