Job Summary: The Tourism & Marketing Coordinator supports the promotion of Terrell as a visitor destination while assisting with marketing initiatives that elevate local businesses and community events. This position focuses on execution, coordination, and content support for tourism campaigns, special events, publications, and small business marketing efforts. The role works collaboratively with staff and partners to ensure consistent messaging, strong visitor engagement, and effective promotion of Terrell’s assets.

Responsibilities Include

Tourism Promotion & Visitor Services

  • Assist with the promotion of Terrell as a tourism destination through marketing campaigns, digital content, and visitor outreach.
  • Coordinate the production, distribution, and updates of visitor guides and tourism materials.
  • Serve as a liaison to local hotels, ensuring they are stocked with visitor guides, informed of upcoming events, and updated on community activities.
  • Assist with updating hotel TV messaging related to events, attractions, and visitor information.
  • Support tourism-related events and initiatives as assigned.

Marketing & Small Business Support

  • Execution of marketing campaigns that promote local businesses, shopping, dining, and downtown activities.
  • Coordinate and support Shop Small and holiday shopping campaigns designed to drive foot traffic downtown.
  • Help develop campaigns that encourage residents and visitors to shop local throughout the year.
  • Support marketing efforts for Chamber and community events, including promotional materials and social media content.

Publications & Content Support

  • Content development, coordination, and distribution of the Chamber’s quarterly publication, Spotlight.
  • Develop visitor guides, digital platforms, and promotional materials.
  • Assist with basic writing, proofreading, and coordination of marketing content.

Digital Platforms & Programs

  • Assist in maintaining and updating Chamber and CVB websites, including event listings and tourism information.
  • Support social media content execution as assigned.
  • Assist with the maintenance and promotion of the GeoCash program, including coordination with participating businesses and promotional efforts.

Events & Team Support

  • Provide marketing and promotional support for Chamber, CVB, and community events.
  • Assist with on-site event support when needed, including evenings and weekends.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure consistent messaging and smooth execution of programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the Chamber and CVB.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Customer-service focused with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with websites, digital content platforms, and social media.
  • Knowledge of the local community and interest in tourism and small business promotion.
  • Bilingual (conversational) skills are a must.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, tourism, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience assisting with marketing campaigns, content creation, or community promotion.
  • Experience working with publications, events, or digital platforms is a plus.
