Job Overview

The role of the Digital Engineering Technician I is to provide technical support in the development, integration, maintenance and optimization of digital engineering tools, models and data environments that support engineering activities across the US Coast Guard. This role will assist engineers, analysts and project teams in implementing model-base systems engineering (MBSE), simulation, data visualization and digital lifecycle management tools to improve system design, testing, sustainment, and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions

  • Provides technical assistance in the use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of digital engineering platforms and tools (e.g., MBSE tools, CAD systems, digital twins, configuration management systems).
  • Assists in the setup, configuration, and validation of digital models, simulations, and engineering documentation systems.
  • Supports model development, data validation, and integration across engineering teams.
  • Maintains engineering data repositories in accordance with data governance and cybersecurity requirements.

Job Requirements

Mandatory

  • Must have High School diploma.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have some experience in part assembly.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Preferred

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial, especially while on travel.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work indoors/outdoors.
  • Must be able to tolerate cold/heat.
  • Comfortable working around exposures to hazards.
  • Ability to work in low-lit areas for long periods of time
  • Occasional travel may be necessary

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend or squat to accommodate obstruction in varied environments
  • Must be able to carry.
  • Comfortable working on ladders.
