Our Corporate Affairs team leads award-winning strategic external communications initiatives, campaigns and materials in support of Aecon’s overall public relations and reputation management strategy. With a roster of exciting infrastructure projects across Canada and beyond, we lead the way for Aecon when it comes to issues management, project and stakeholder communications, media relations, executive communications, social and digital media and government relations. Are you an organized, resourceful and creative team player with a passion for dynamic and strategic digital communications? Do you have a passion for communicating across social media platforms utilizing creative multimedia? We’re looking for your positive attitude and desire to succeed as a member of our high-performing team in the Digital Communications Specialist role.
- *Key Responsibilities**
- Strategize, develop, execute and measure social and digital media activities and campaigns.
- Drive the continuous improvement, maintenance and relevancy of Aecon’s social and digital media presence through benchmarking, tracking trends, platform expansion evaluation and audience analysis.
- Liaise with business units and visit project sites to capture compelling stories and news to be communicated externally on a broad variety of platforms including articles, podcasts, social, digital and traditional media.
- Develop and edit powerful, dynamic and forward-looking video, graphic and multimedia assets.
- Record, coordinate, distribute and promote Aecon’s podcast and create graphics/assets to accompany social and digital communications.
- Coordinate social and digital media editorial schedule, ensuring alignment with Aecon’s website and other external channels.
- Monitor social media engagement and comments to support reputation management and respond to public inquiries and issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Support the development of other communications materials including LinkedIn newsletters, presentations and articles.
- Research and curate social listening reports and conduct media monitoring.
- Support PR opportunities, lunch and learns, Annual General Meetings and media interviews.
- Support training and engagement by developing social media modules and primers.
- Administrative tasks as required.
- *Required Knowledge and Experience**
- University degree paired with a communications or multimedia post-graduate certificate, or a diploma in communications/public relations, multimedia or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of progressive experience in corporate or agency communications.
