Responsibilities

The Ascension Data Sciences Institute (ADSI) was created in July 2019 with the mission of supporting Ascension in achieving its Quadruple Aim with uniquely skilled, high-performing associates who develop analyses, models, and applications to enable Ascension in providing higher value healthcare and making strategic decisions. ADSI is comprised of 6 domains addressing 1) Clinical quality and patient safety; 2) Health Economics and Clinical Outcomes; 3) Strategic Operations and Financial Analytics; 4) Actuarial and Managed Care Analytics; 5) Registry Abstraction Healthcare Solutions; and 6) Healthcare Data Intelligence. We are hiring a Senior Analyst, Clinical Transformation Analytics to support Ascension’s goal to differentiate ourselves on patient quality and innovation. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting Ascension’s Clinical Transformation team in improving health care through the use of nudges. You will be integrated into a multi-disciplinary team contributing analytics that supports rapid development, testing and scaling of digital programs. You will bring valuable technical expertise in patient cohort development using acute and ambulatory EHR data, data exploration and quality control as well as outcomes reporting and basic statistics. To be successful, you will need to have superior SQL skills and enjoy working in a team.

The Senior Analyst - Clinical Transformation role offers an opportunity to:

• Partner with clinical leaders to implement and test innovative quality improvement projects.

Be the technical subject matter expert contributing your professional-level SQL skills to drive accuracy and efficiency.

Work remotely while being part of a team that is improving the lives of patients across the country.

Ideal Candidate

• As a top candidate, you must have superior technical and organizational skills and at least 5 years of experience in healthcare analytics. Experience using Google Cloud Platform and data visualization is helpful.
• Developing and validating queries is one of your strong points. You possess professional-level SQL skills and are proficient in writing high-performance queries with an understanding of relational databases, which allows you to design efficient schemas. Please note, the interview process will include a SQL assessment.
• In addition to your advanced technical skills, you are proficient at communicating insights, limitations, and how they affect data accuracy and overall project goals.
• You are mission-driven and have a passion for partnering with team members to develop and maintain data-driven insights that support quality improvement initiatives and operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple nudge campaigns by identifying cohorts using criteria provided by clinical teams and managing the data delivery process between teams and systems.
• Validate data, developing quality control processes and ad-hoc queries to proactively identify anomalies and work with the implementation team on fixes or enhancements.
• Work closely with data engineering teams and other technical teams to inform the data infrastructure needed to scale campaigns.
• Conduct evaluations using basic statistics and visualization techniques.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

Work Experience

• 3 years of experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

• Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred in the area of Health Informatics, Public Health, Healthcare Data Science, Healthcare Information Technology

Work Experience

• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience working with EHR data
