- *You are**
- **The Marketing & Communications Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing all marketing and communication strategies (internal and external) for the Manitoba Possible brand/s across various channels including traditional and digital forms of marketing. The Marketing & Communications Strategist develops and fosters good working relationships with staff and key stakeholders, as well as provides guidance through evaluating, developing, and communicating marketing strategies to build Manitoba Possible brand awareness and positioning ensuring the vision, mission, values and strategic priorities are aligned.
- *Your Role**
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of marketing, planning, promotion, and public relations support of Manitoba Possible.
- Coordinate the creation and distribution of community reports, ads and media releases.
- Support key events through the provision of marketing support.
- Assess the results of marketing efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
- Develop Manitoba Possible’s written materials (brochures, newsletters, etc.).
- Ensure that the language of written materials is compelling, accurate, professional, and credible.
- Gather information to research, write and edit stories and materials.
- Take photographs of clients, staff, participants & events, etc.
- Create videos of events, programs, & stories (clients, staff, participants) to be used on the various social media platforms (YouTube, etc.).
- Verify proper release forms are on file and properly identified for anyone photographed or interviewed.
- As needed, adapt written communications into other formats including web, video or presentations.
- Develop and manage content for Manitoba Possible’s website.
- Coordinate Manitoba Possible’s social media activities through the various channels (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
- Provide advice and solutions on how to best communicate ideas and information to various target audiences.
- Support and promote fund development campaigns.
- Consistently communicate in a respectful, responsive, and responsible manner.
- Establish a collaborative relationship with other Manitoba Possible programs.
- Promote Manitoba Possible in a positive manner within the organization and externally.
- Adhere to established budgets.
- *What You Bring**
- University degree or advanced diploma in relevant field or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Two plus years marketing and communications experience. Adept at story gathering and telling.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities.
- Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media.
- Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
- Experience with website management and using social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Strong communications skills.
- Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), Adobe products or equivalent video/picture editing software’s such as Canva, InDesign, iMovie along with CRM’s, QRs, etc.
- Ability to take photos/videos and edit using appropriate software (iMovie, Photoshop, Canva, etc).
- Design background in DMD (Digital Media Design) would be an asset.
- American Sign Language (ASL) and bilingualism (French/English) would be assets.
- Strong attention to detail is required.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem solving skills are required.
- Self starter, capable of identifying the need for and taking independent action while providing updates on a consistent basis to direct supervisor.
- Ability to handle pressure while balancing priorities within time and resource constraints.
- Unparalleled personal integrity and a strong work ethic.
- Extraordinary energy, drive and initiative.
- Ability to work both in a team environment as well as independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and staff.
- A basic knowledge of fundraising practices and principles.
