The Director of Digital Product Management for Bank Solutions at First Command will lead and grow a portfolio of digital banking products, driving strategic initiatives that align the bank’s digital platform with meaningful client and business outcomes. Through the development of an actionable portfolio strategy and strong partnerships with Bank leadership, Operations, and Technology, the Director will unite product strategy, bank strategy, and enterprise priorities into a cohesive plan that delivers measurable value.
In this role, the Director will define and champion the product vision for digital banking, steering roadmaps across multiple capabilities including mobile and online banking, payments, account onboarding, digital servicing, and client identity. The Director will guide digital product managers and owners in creating business cases, defining requirements, and ensuring that solutions meet regulatory expectations, align with bank policy, and support business readiness. Collaborating with cross-functional leaders and subject matter experts, the Director will ensure the timely and high quality delivery of digital banking enhancements and new capabilities.
The Director will leverage customer insights, industry trends, and proven technologies to deliver secure, scalable, and intuitive digital experiences for banking clients. Success will be measured by tracking product and client experience metrics, improving adoption, reducing operational friction, and increasing client satisfaction. The Director will also partner closely with Marketing, Bank Operations, InfoSec, and Training to ensure clear messaging, smooth operational support, and effective rollout strategies that strengthen First Command’s competitive position and client trust.
What will the person in this role be doing?
Portfolio Leadership And Vision
- Define an actionable digital banking portfolio strategy and roadmap prioritized by measurable client and business outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with Bank leadership to ensure alignment between bank strategy and product strategy.
- Oversee the creation, documentation, and communication of digital banking product roadmaps.
- Guide customer and market research efforts to understand digital banking personas, needs, and usage patterns.
- Evaluate emerging digital banking technologies and relevant innovations to identify new opportunities in areas such as account onboarding, payments, authentication, and experience personalization.
- Oversee competitive intelligence gathering across digital banking platforms and fintech providers.
- Lead or support partnerships with core banking partners such as Jack Henry, Fiserv, and others as appropriate.
Development And Delivery
- Oversee the creation and presentation of business cases for digital banking enhancements, integrations, and new capabilities.
- Ensure digital product managers and owners document complete requirements, user stories, and artifacts necessary for digital banking development processes.
- Oversee product development to ensure new digital banking offerings include required capabilities and launch on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and security standards.
- Coordinate product readiness and implementation with functional partners including Bank Operations, InfoSec, Compliance, Training, Adoption, Change Management, and Marketing.
- Support sales and marketing efforts by ensuring digital banking value propositions and messaging are clear, compliant, and aligned to client needs.
- Oversee and enforce an objective, consistent prioritization process for digital banking enhancements.
Portfolio Management And Measurement
- Ensure a consistent process for monitoring product adoption, client behavior, feedback, and operational impact across digital banking capabilities.
- Monitor and report on portfolio performance including usage trends, client experience, client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and incident reduction.
- Assist in resolving client or advisor escalations related to digital banking as needed.
- Use evidence-based decision making to prioritize opportunities, balancing impact, risk, and feasibility.
- Be accountable for capturing and delivering expected value across the digital banking roadmap.
- Be accountable for commercial and noncommercial portfolio metrics, including digital adoption, experience quality, and operational performance.

What skills and qualifications does the person in this role need?
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required (may consider experience in lieu of degree)
- Master’s degree preferred
Work Experience
- 10 years of product or technology leadership experience in progressive roles.
- Formal experience managing direct reports or leading teams.
- Digital banking or broader financial services experience, including knowledge of consumer and commercial banking.
- Experience with banking platforms such as Jack Henry Banno, Silverlake, Fiserv Architect, FIS, or similar.
- Product management experience across the full lifecycle from launch through maturity.
- Digital product management experience, including going through a full product lifecycle (from launch to maturity)
- Previous experience in technical product development is desirable
- Related technology background is desirable, particularly in the area of digital experience platforms and web and mobile technologies
- Agile and/or Scaled-Agile (SAFe) experience
