The Sales Director at Cox Business is an inspiring leader who drives outside sales teams to exceed corporate sales targets. This position combines office responsibilities with regular customer engagements, operating in a fast-paced, budget-focused environment. Strong leadership, strategic planning, and exceptional people management skills are essential. Occasional travel to customer locations is expected, utilizing personal or company vehicles.
Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Sales Leadership & Team Development
- Foster a strong sales culture while serving as an exemplary role model for the team.
- Recruit, train, develop, and mentor a high-performing sales team to achieve revenue and retention success.
- Guide and monitor team performance to ensure high standards in sales practices and customer experiences.
- Strategic Planning & Execution
- Establish clear sales goals aligned with corporate and regional objectives.
- Design territory structures and account assignments to maximize market penetration and revenue growth.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure seamless alignment of sales strategies.
- Operational Excellence
- Oversee forecasts, budgets, and expenses to meet profitability and margin objectives.
- Review and authorize sales presentation materials, ROI analyses, and commission distributions.
- Ensure timely updates of customer information and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Customer & Community Engagement
- Act as a subject matter expert for resolving escalated customer issues.
- Represent Cox Business in the local community through networking and participation in events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, including 1+ year in a leadership role.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience accepted.
- Proven expertise in business-to-business consultative sales.
- Proficiency in Windows-based PC environments and Microsoft Office.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong skills in team building, business sales, relationship management, adaptability, and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS/BA degree.
- Experience in the telecommunications sector.
- Familiarity with the local market.
- Experience in preparing responses for RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs.
Compensation includes a base salary ranging from $107,100.00 to $160,700.00, with additional potential for an annual incentive commission of $48,879.96.
