Our products include industry-standard geospatial mapping software plug-ins for Adobe Creative Cloud, a mobile app with digital map reader and mapping tools for offline use, and an online marketplace for digital maps which serves as a distribution channel for publishers and an authoritative map repository for app users.
We are a busy growing mid-town Toronto software company seeking a high-energy, creative, and experienced product marketer to lead the next phase in improving our customer experience in digital media and marketing to promote our desktop and mobile software products.
- *JOB PURPOSE**:
- *JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Make the Avenza Maps catalog (1 million+ maps) discoverable in our e-commerce platforms (web and in-app) by maintaining, categorizing, curating, creating the e-commerce content
- Own the e-commerce features life-cycle, from high level specs to coordination with the production teams (designers, dev., QA)
- Writing SEO friendly content improvements to existing and new products of our digital map store on their Title, Description, Category and Search Tags, SEO meta-tags, URL (etc.) to increase their value.
- Highlighting high quality or noteworthy maps for social media posts.
- The Map Review guidelines would be increased to include Product Listing quality checks, meaning each review would take longer, but this person would ensure each map is functional but also is an SEO and user engagement friendly product.
- Researching, analyzing and testing keywords and phrases
- Identifying through our database how products can be grouped by interest and/or geographic location
- Writing SEO friendly editorial content for geographic landing pages, gather and integrate associated metadata (such as geographic bounds), pictures and curate product listings.
- Working with Map Publishers to provide guidance on how to improve the quality of their Map Store listings
- Creating blog posts to better educate Map Publishers on improving the quality of their offerings.
- *SKILLS**:
- Knowledge of an ecommerce platform, preferably Shopify Plus
- Proven experience in e-commerce content creation/management on important catalogs
- Experience on feature life cycle, from requirement description to coordination with production teams, and feedback collection
- Demonstrable experience in a copywriting or website content creation role
- Excellent English communication (written and verbal) and comprehension skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Proficiency with collaborative tools such as GSuite, in particular with Google Sheets (or Excel)
- Passion for outdoor activities, hiking, travelling
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a group setting
- Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time and workload
- Practical SEO experience
- Familiar with HTML, CSS, and content management
- Very comfortable with web / app technology and communications
- *ASSETS**:
- Knowledge of an additional language would be an asset, preferably French
- Knowledge of SEO tools such as SEMRush, HRefs or Moz
- Familiarity with the Avenza Maps mobile app
- Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite products, specifically Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
