JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you considering transitioning from your current role as a Paralegal to becoming a Digital Reporter? As a Paralegal - Digital Reporter ("DR"), your primary responsibility would involve overseeing civil litigation proceedings and capturing all content, including witness testimony, using digital tools.

The Digital Reporter is responsible for

Overseeing proceedings as an unbiased custodian of the record.
Administering oaths to witnesses and carrying out responsibilities as a State Notary.
Utilizing advanced audio technology to accurately record proceedings.
Accurately annotating case events and terminology for precise transcription.
Performing thorough research and validating information from diverse sources.
Proficiently utilizing digital databases and online research tools.

REQUIREMENTS

State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it
Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states)
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings
Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment
Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings
Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing
Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills
Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and presentability
Willingness to work as an independent contractor
Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required
Willing to work both remotely and in person.
