Long-Term Strategic Digital Marketing Partner (China Market Validation for Beverage/Alcohol Brands)

We are looking for a long-term strategic digital partner based in China (agency or freelancer) to help us run multiple market-validation projects for Western beverage/alcohol brands entering China.

This role goes far beyond simple social media management.

We need a partner who can design testing methodologies, run real digital experiments, interpret data, and deliver strategic insights.

Our approach includes three pillars

  • Digital validation (your scope)
  • Importer prospecting (handled by us)
  • Offline testing (bar trials, tastings—handled by us)

Your digital insights will directly guide the other two pillars.

Project Objectives (Defined by Us)

Each project aims to answer

  • What is the optimal brand positioning for China?
  • Which messaging angles resonate best?
  • Who are the 2–3 high-potential target consumer groups?
  • What do these consumers look like (personas)?
  • What is their customer journey (how they discover, evaluate, purchase)?
  • What are the strategic recommendations for digital, offline, and importer-focused next steps?

Your Role (You Propose the Methodology)

You will propose the best approach to achieve our objectives.

Possible tools include (examples only)

  • Real sales tests on Taobao, Xiaohongshu Store, or similar
  • KOL collaborations and sampling reviews
  • Livestream tests
  • Paid ads (WeChat, RED, Douyin)
  • Organic content tests (articles, notes, short videos)
  • A/B testing (copy, visuals, pricing, CTAs)
  • Social listening and comment analysis
  • Lightweight H5 or landing pages
  • Funnel and conversion behavior tracking

We value methodology and insight quality over execution volume.

What We Provide

To support your work, we will provide

  • Imported legal product in sufficient quantity for real sales testing
  • Logistics, warehousing, and fulfillment
  • Product visuals, packaging assets
  • Brand background + messaging
  • English brand guidelines

You can propose China-specific adaptations.

Expected Deliverables

Each project (6–8 weeks) must conclude with a final strategic validation report, including:

  • Validated brand positioning for China
  • Validated messaging angles
  • Identification of 2–3 priority consumer segments
  • Consumer personas
  • Customer journey mapping
  • Platform-level KPIs & performance comparisons
  • Concrete, actionable recommendations for next steps

KPIs (Examples)

You may propose additional KPIs, but typical metrics include:

Quantitative

  • CTR, CPE, CPM
  • Add-to-cart rate
  • Conversion signals (even if low volume)
  • Landing page behavior
  • Cost per order (if applicable)

Qualitative

  • Comment themes and sentiment
  • Consumer motivations and objections
  • Behavioral patterns and preferences

Required Experience

  • MUST be based in China
  • Experience with beverage/alcohol or lifestyle brands preferred
  • Strong experience with Xiaohongshu, WeChat, Douyin
  • Skill in designing and running testing frameworks
  • Ability to extract strategic insights from small-scale experiments
  • Professional reporting skills (English or Chinese)

Budget

We expect two parts per project

  • Media + KOL + platform spend
  • Your service fee

Budget is flexible depending on your recommended methodology.

We are expecting testing-scale projects, not full commercial campaigns.

Freelancers may propose hourly or fixed-price structures.
