Freelance FMCG Multi-Media Specialist

We are looking for an experienced freelance FMCG marketing specialist to support our marketing team across our B2B brand and our retail brand. We are an established 4th generation produce business that is looking to stand out from our competitors and needing some extra resource to help out when it's busy and when required. This role is ideal for someone who can jump in quickly, take briefs and turn out great marketing material ready for print/socials.

Contract type: Freelance / Contract (project-based, ongoing as needed)

Location: NZ-based preferred (remote OK)

Start: ASAP

Hours: Flexible (ad-hoc to steady weekly support depending on workload)

What you’ll do or what may be included

Design/produce in-store POS and promotional collateral (A0–A4 posters, bin headers, wobblers, shelf talkers, recipe cards, price cards, decals)

Create clean, easy-to-follow “store execution packs” for retail teams

Build adaptable templates for different retailers and materials.

Content creation

Create short-form videos and cutdowns for social/paid campaigns (6–10s, 15s, 30s) using supplied imagery/footage and/or new content

Produce static social assets, digital ads, and retailer tiles that are clear and on point with our brand guidelines

Support product storytelling: simple recipes/usage ideas, benefits-led copy

Trade marketing B2B

Build trade-facing collateral: sales sheets, spec sheets, 1-pagers, buyer/wholesaler decks, promo briefs

Support sales communications: EDMs, pitch emails, capability overviews

Package information clearly for supermarket buyers, wholesalers, and foodservice customers

Brand + production support

Keep assets consistent with brand guidelines

Prepare artwork for print and supply correct file formats/specs

What we’re looking for

  • Proven FMCG marketing experience, ideally with grocery/retail exposure
  • Strong understanding of shopper marketing and what works in-store
  • Able to deliver polished, print-ready files with minimal back-and-forth
  • Comfortable working at pace with multiple briefs and tight turnarounds
  • Strong capability in design tools (Adobe Ai and/or Canva); video editing experience (Premiere Pro/CapCut or similar) is a plus

Bonus: experience with retailer digital shelf content (online grocery), trade presentations, or product launches

How we work

  • We’ll provide brand guidelines, core product info, and clear briefs
  • You’ll be expected to propose options quickly, then execute efficiently
  • Workload will flex—some weeks light, some weeks busy (campaigns, launches, seasonal peaks)
