Assistant Director of Digital Marketing for Personal Insurance

The Assistant Director of Digital Marketing plays a pivotal role in leading and strategizing our personal lines digital marketing initiatives to drive new business while ensuring a favorable return on investment. This position is crucial for optimizing our marketing budget by prioritizing strategies that yield the best results.
In this role, you will collaborate with analytics, creative teams, and cross-functional partners to develop and enhance paid digital campaigns. Your responsibilities will include budget oversight, performance management, vendor relations, measurement/forecasting, process enhancement, and formulating creative testing strategies. We are looking for a candidate with substantial digital marketing experience across various channels (such as display, retargeting, programmatic, paid social, and testing environments), who possesses a balance of hands-on execution with data-driven strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the display marketing initiatives, managing campaign creation, trafficking, optimization, testing strategies, and performance monitoring.
- Utilize data insights to optimize campaign effectiveness and establish a robust testing pipeline.
- Collaborate with analytics to track results, identify trends and opportunities, and provide accurate forecasts.
- Innovate strategies to stimulate growth and reduce customer acquisition costs.
- Develop processes, tools, and documentation for efficient planning, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Maintain and manage key vendor relationships, ensuring communication is strong and execution is aligned with strategic goals.
- Oversee an annual budget between $4-6MM for display and digital media, focusing on forecasting, allocation, optimization, and expense management.
- Create and present insightful materials that succinctly communicate results, insights, and strategies to a diverse range of audiences.
- Lead initiatives across various channels to further Personal Lines marketing objectives, inspiring peers and stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a marketing role.
- Expertise in direct-to-consumer marketing, including targeting, segmentation, modeling, creative testing, and results analysis.
- Ability to devise strategies through critical thinking and execute them effectively.
- Experience with A/B and multivariate testing to optimize outcomes and inform recommendations.
- Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in tools like Excel.
- A highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter who can efficiently manage internal and external resources.
- Capability to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and collaborative environment.
- Tactical proficiency across direct marketing areas including media buying, planning, creative development, channel optimization, and performance management.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of industry trends and competitive dynamics impacting program growth.
- Extensive experience in marketing planning, budgeting, and project management.
- A results-driven mindset focused on metrics, with strong collaborative and influencing abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
This position allows for a hybrid work arrangement, with a combination of in-office and remote work days.
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is between $104,800 and $157,200 annually, depending on experience and performance. This range reflects analysis of similar positions in the market. Alongside the base pay, we offer a total compensation package that includes bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition opportunities.
