As part of the eCommerce team at GL Stone Tile, the Digital Merchandising Specialist manages the accuracy, completeness, and presentation of the eCommerce product catalog.
E-commerce Specialist will be responsible for product launches and driving sales through effective product positioning, which includes consideration of graphics, descriptions and marketing text.
- *The key responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Manage online seasonal product rollouts (e.g. Fall) from launch to retirement.
- Manage the timely addition of new products and the ongoing enhancement of product catalogue content, as well as the removal of discontinued products.
- Ensure accurate information for all web products, including descriptions, images, attributes, ingredients, pricing etc. Updates product info as required to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Maintain compelling and consistent product categories, including information architecture, visual presentation, and product ordering. Manage cross-sells/upsells, badging and messaging.
- Manage the merchandising calendar, and propose updates to homepage, category, menu and cart content, including featured products, to maximize sales and conversions.
- Work with photography and copy to obtain product imagery/copy, identifying areas for improvement.
- Identify performance trends across products and categories through data analysis, and presents thoughtful strategies for future improvement/development.
- Manage sales reporting
- Identify opportunities to connect product content from the company blog and other sources across the site and product listings to help drive sales.
- Work with Supply Chain/Fulfillment and the Contact Centre to ensure inventory messaging (back-order, pre-order, seasonal, in shop only) is accurate and that the sales team is aware of upcoming status changes e.g. discontinued, out of stock, backordered product
- Assist in website user testing of new features and bug fixes
- *Interested applicants must meet the following requirements**:
- 2+ years’ experience with ecommerce product data, with ability to manage product content, pricing and image assets.
- Detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple projects at once, adept in navigating ambiguity and rapidly changing or competing priorities.
- Demonstrated experience using web merchandising tools and working with internal teams to create compelling banners and creative assets
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, etc.) and Google (Docs, Forms, Sheets).
- Some understanding of Google Analytics, photo editing, hand-coding HTML, CSS, and data management. Understanding of SEO principles an asset.
- Experience with project management/collaboration tools
