Technical Program Manager – AI Strategy & Organizational Transformation
ExcelerateAbout the position
We’re looking for a bold, self-driven Technical Program Manager who thrives at the intersection of emerging AI technology and organizational transformation. You will play a key role in shaping the project’s shift toward AI‑first workforce adoption. This role sits within a Center of Excellence-style PMO team and partners closely with senior leadership to operationalize AI strategy across Engineering, Product, Design, and adjacent functions.
This is not a hands-on engineering or “heads‑down” PM delivery role. Instead, you will act as a strategic operator; someone who can walk into a discussion with VPs and engineers, deeply understands and can speak to modern AI concepts, and can confidently engage in technical and executive conversations. It will be crucial to translate high-level strategy into structured, executable programs, operating mechanisms, and organizational AI adoption.
You will work closely with senior leaders and be responsible for managing change and ensuring the successful institutionalization of agent-driven development practices across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support leadership operating mechanisms (OpMechs) by driving updates, action tracking, cross-functional reporting, and follow-through.
- Prepare materials, synthesize inputs, and maintain program continuity across leadership forums.
- Act as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders, enabling decision-making.
- Help define and implement the structure for AI transformation across a Fintech organization
- Translate an evolving AI-first vision into practical rollout plans, operating rhythms, and adoption mechanisms.
- Drive execution of rollouts focused on transforming how teams across Engineering, Product, and Design use AI tools or capabilities.
- Design and coordinate sessions, working groups, and cross-org forums to drive AI fluency and adoption.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure AI initiatives are implemented consistently.
- Support change management efforts, identifying gaps in understanding and helping teams up-level.
- Stay ahead of AI market developments, research breakthroughs, and Large Language Model (LLM) trends.
- Design and operationalize mechanisms to collect feedback and harvest effective usage of AI by early adopters for dissemination across the organization.
- Curate and synthesize information on AI tools, platforms, and industry trends relative to the enterprise’s adoption.
- Create clear, consumable materials that help teams (of various personas) understand how AI is improving workflows.
- Engage with partners and vendors as needed, helping bring external insights into the organization to drive cultural adoption.
- Act as the connective tissue across teams, ensuring information flows effectively up, down, and across the organization.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities in a highly ambiguous environment.
- Operate with high autonomy, inserting yourself into conversations and driving momentum without heavy direction.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Program Management, or Consulting within complex, matrixed organizations.
- Strong understanding of AI/LLM concepts and ecosystems (e.g., generative AI, agentic workflows, AI tooling, Model Context Protocol (MCP). Hands-on coding is not required.
- Demonstrated understanding of SDLC.
- Ability to confidently “speak the language” of AI with engineers, product leaders, and executives in an AI-first environment.
- Strong proficiency in Google Suite Tools (Sheets, Slides) and project management-related tools (e.g. Smartsheet).
- Demonstrated experience building and operationalizing programs from the ground up within complex, matrixed organizations.
- Skilled in structuring workflows, establishing operating mechanisms, and driving accountability.
- Bold, proactive communicator who participates actively in conversations rather than waiting for direction.
- Thrives on driving large-scale organizational change behind the scenes.
- Proven ability to partner across cross-functional teams and move work forward through influence rather than authority.
- Strong ability to simplify complex topics and drive clarity in ambiguous environments.
- Willingness to work onsite in Mountain View three (3) days a week.
- Bachelor’s degree required
Nice-to-haves
- Exposure to financial services, fintech, or regulated environments is a plus.
