The VP, Communications Diagnostics is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing a platform-wide communications strategy that drives brand preference, thought leadership and aligns operating company communications with business strategies. This role will work closely with the EVP, Danaher Diagnostics to determine business priorities and build and scale an executive thought leadership platform.
This position reports to the Chief Communications Officer, Danaher – Joao, Belo and is part of the Danaher Communications Leadership Team and also the Diagnostics Leadership Team. It is located in one of our sites in California, Marlborough, MA OneDanaher site or our DC Headquarters and will be an on-site role.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a business leader and trusted advisor to the EVP of Danaher Diagnostics and platform leadership, developing and executing a thought leadership strategy that positions the platform as an innovation leader in diagnostics.
- Define and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the Diagnostics business, ensuring alignment with Danaher’s enterprise narrative and business objectives.
- Strategically oversee communications teams across operating companies to ensure consistency, efficiency and measurable impact driving brand preference.
- Oversee media relations strategy for the platform, including proactive outreach and rapid response to protect and enhance reputation.
- Build relationships with key industry and trade media to amplify platform visibility.
- Provide strategic counsel and rapid response capabilities for issues affecting the Diagnostics platform.
- Establish robust protocols and scenario planning in partnership with enterprise communications.
- Manage agency relationships and optimize resources for efficiency and impact.
Qualifications
- 20+ years of progressive experience in communications, preferably in diagnostics, life sciences, or healthcare sectors.
- Proven success in executive thought leadership, media relations, and integrated communications strategies.
- Strong experience in regulated industries and issues/crisis management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a matrixed organization and influence senior executives.
- Expertise in leveraging data and analytics to measure impact and optimize strategies.
- Exceptional executive presence, strategic thinking and influencing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

The annual salary range for this role is $275,000 – $320,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
