Job Description
We are looking for a Die-hard Hockey Enthusiast Ecommerce Merchandiser to lead the growth plan behind our Shopify ecommerce site and systems with the highest level of delight.
We are authentic and retail online NHL authentic customized jerseys with any name and number across all of North America.
We also have strong partnerships with Fanatics, Brand 47, CCM/Bauer, Klarna and social media influencers.
In business since 1999, this business has lost some momentum in the last hockey season - but we are on a tear to spice it up and reclaim our former market leading position.
With a newly energized passionate team we are on the path to be 'elbows up' in the Canadian market and bespoke to the USA.
If you root for the underdog, you'll be right at home.
Be part of a world class multi-billion international public corporation - working in a B2C acquisition that's out to show how our Canadian team can make Shopify sing in this multi-million dollar Canadian/US business.
The ideal candidate brings a background in product, growth and/or product analytics at a high-growth ecommerce startup, with experience working alongside operations, I.T.
and customer service. This role defines and coordinates key metrics (CVR, AOV, RPV, etc).
You've got a keen eye for the details in merchandising, keen new marketing ideas to share and develop with the team, and a passion to win.
Focus on the user experience, data-driven rigor and a knack for measurement, the business intuition to work cross-functionally and prioritize our roadmap, and enough technical fluency to collaborate closely with internal and external developers.
In your first ninety days, you'll take ownership of our digital product roadmap and backlog, refine our growth priorities planning document, and dig deep into pricing and merchandising vs.
the competition. The team is also assessing our existing site experience and prioritizing opportunities for improvement. Let's explore new features and experiences, and begin work on new feature development.
Day To Day
Own the ecommerce roadmap, including the growth initiatives and prioritization of new digital features, writing clear specs, SOP's and working with design, development and growth stakeholders to guide new features
Own site merchandising strategy, including where and how products, bundles and upsells are displayed throughout the site, as well as recommending pricing based on competition.
Be accountable for primary transactional metrics like AOV, CVR and revenue per visit (RPV), along with secondary metrics that inform these metrics (site speed - mobile / laptop)
Collaborate with growth, customer success and customer service teams to collect user feedback and qualitative insights; dig into GA to find quantitative insights; put the pieces together to rigorously develop and prioritize feature ideas that will move the needle
Liaise with internal and external development partners to execute on new feature development, and QA to perfection across device and platform.
Partner with executives and cross-functional teams including growth, CS, brand and operations to set the broader product strategy for our digital ecommerce experience
Contribute to brand and design decisions that affect our digital identity
Qualifications

Deep knowledge of Shopify Plus and the Shopify ecosystem
Strong portfolio featuring experience shipping exceptional products that users love
Data-driven, analytical approach to planning; you use data to inform the digital product roadmap and sprint prioritization
Passion for defining processes, systems and documentation: you make genius repeatable.
Superlative attention to every detail of the digital product development process, from spec to QA; no use case or interaction escapes your eye.
Strong bias for action and a thirst to learn
Exceptional written and verbal communication
Bonus Points
Hockey, hockey, hockey (ok, enough already).
Experience with product analytics, development, UX design and/or site merchandising
Familiarity and ability to do basic shopify customization
Ability to work in office 5 days/week to be part of a creative team. WFH can be flexible once established.
