About the Role
We are seeking a data-driven and strategic Manager of Ecommerce to lead our digital growth and oversee the day-to-day operations of our online business. In this role, you will own our digital commerce channels, drive the digital customer roadmap, and lead cross-functional efforts to optimize conversion, retention, and brand storytelling.
You will be the bridge between marketing, operations, and technology, ensuring that our online presence is not just a storefront, but a high-performing engine for growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Growth
- Execute a comprehensive ecommerce strategy to meet or exceed revenue and profitability goals.
- Own and execute the ecommerce GTM calendar, partnering cross-functionally to drive successful product launches and promotional performance.
- Monitor industry trends and performance drivers on a day-to-day basis to identify new opportunities for marketplace expansion and revenue growth.
- Leverage digital customer insights and demand to collaborate with the rest of the ecommerce team, actively influencing future product roadmaps.
Site Operations & UX
- Lead the CRO strategy and experimentation roadmap, directly manage our development agency to execute high-impact A/B testing and mobile-first optimizations that directly drive conversion lift.
- Manage the end-to-end user experience (UX), leveraging customer data and heatmapping to ensure a frictionless journey from landing page to checkout.
- Oversee site content, ensuring product descriptions, imagery, and assets are AEO-optimized (Answer Engine Optimization) and on-brand.
- Collaborate with vendors and development teams to prioritize feature releases and bug fixes that support the broader testing roadmap.
- Conduct regular site audits and competitive analysis to ensure best-in-class performance, site speed, and feature parity.
- Own site platform functionality and stability across the ecommerce technology stack.
Analytics & Performance
- Lead ongoing performance management across key KPIs (CAC, LTV, AOV, Conversion Rate) to support growth targets.
- Oversee promotional discounting and gifting strategies, ensuring disciplined budgeting and effective performance tracking.
- Utilize web analytics tools to derive actionable insights and report performance to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with the performance marketing agency and other relevant external agencies to optimize all paid media campaigns. Provide necessary resources, data, and clear feedback.
- Deeply analyze customer behavior data to understand funnel drop-off points and implement continuous optimization initiatives.
- Manage inventory levels in alignment with the campaign calendar and revenue forecasts.
- Establish and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data collection, reporting accuracy, and inventory management.
Team Leadership
- Manage, mentor, and collaborate with the Ecommerce Coordinator to deliver a best-in-class digital function and support accelerated professional growth.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, tech partners, and agencies.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5–8 years of experience in Ecommerce, Digital Marketing, or DTC operations, with at least 1 year of management experience or management role.
- Platform Expertise: Deep proficiency with major ecommerce platforms. Experience implementing a variety of supporting ecommerce platforms and tools. 3+ years of Shopify experience required, experience with subscription, loyalty, and CRM tools a major plus. (e.g., Recharge, Klaviyo).
- Location Requirement: Must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and be able to commute to our office weekly on Wednesdays.
- Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in data analytics; ability to translate complex data into business strategy. 2+ years of Google Analytics experience required. Exceptional proficiency in Excel/Google sheets a major plus.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously with strict attention to detail.
