Key job responsibilities
Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Apply Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on troubleshooting and dive deeps for controls engineering issues, supporting automation engineers and technicians to investigate the root cause and planning actions to eliminate/mitigate the downtime of critical assets
Collaborate with building Operations, Operations Engineering / PAVE teams, FC Start-up Team, IT/Software teams, ACES team, and Safety to support MHE systems optimization and project implementation
Understand, maintain and troubleshoot pharmacy specific equipment, material handling control systems, including Fanuc Robots, PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical control panels / distribution systems
Monitor RME / MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address system performance issues and provide analysis across all operations
Provide escalation support to automation engineers and technicians, during and after business hours, troubleshooting locally and remotely, to ensure that all hardware or controls software within the building is repaired on time
Appropriately escalate downtime situations to vendors or leadership for support to restore equipment operation.
Facilitate Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes to drive continuous improvement
Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance pharmacy equipment and material handling system performance
Communicate technical issues, corrective actions, and project timelines clearly to senior leadership, operations staff and maintenance teams
Move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
Climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of PLC programming experience
- 2+ years of PLC/SCADA integration experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology or equivalent, or 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with programming software such as RSLogix5000, Studio 5000, FT View, and other controls software platforms, plus SQL database and data mining. Experience identifying, maintaining, and utilizing SCADA systems and KPIs. Experience with creating automated alarms, reports and KPI metrics for plant management
- FANUC Robotics experience in programming, troubleshooting, repairing, and mastering, and any certification / training is a bonus.
- Experience identifying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying Motor Controls including motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components
- Hands-on industrial electrical experience, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems
- Experience interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and electrical drawings
- Experience acting in a team lead capacity, supporting, training, and mentoring less experienced automation engineering professionals

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $163,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
